Չինաստանն ավարտել է շինարարության առաջին փուլը և ցանցին է միացրել 1 ԳՎտ հզորությամբ աշխարհի ամենամեծ ծովային արևային էլեկտրակայանը։ Ավարտից հետո կայանը ափից 8 կմ հեռավորության վրա կծածկի ավելի քան 1200 հեկտար մակերեսային ջուր։ Կարևոր է այն, որ վահանակների տակ գտնվող ջուրը չի վատնվի, այն կօգտագործվի ծովային մշակաբույսեր և օրգանիզմներ աճեցնելու համար համատեղելով էներգիան և սննդի արտադրությունը փոխշահավետ համադրություն։
HG14 ծովային ֆոտովոլտային նախագիծն իրականացվում է Guohua Investment Shandong-ի կողմից։ Արևային էլեկտրակայանը գտնվում է Շանդոնգ նահանգի ափամերձ ջրերում՝ Դոնգինգի Քենգլի շրջանի մոտ։ Այդ կայանը նման մասշտաբի առաջին խոշորածավալ ծովային արևային ֆոտովոլտային կայանը է, և այն արդեն սկսել է առևտրային շահագործումը։ Լիարժեք շահագործման հանձնվելուց հետո, օբյեկտը կապահովի տեղական արդյունաբերության և բնակիչների էլեկտրաէներգիայի կարիքների մինչև 60%-ը։
Վահանակները տեղադրվում են ծովի հատակին բետոնով ամրացված և ձուլված սյուների վրա։ Սյուները ամրացվում են GPS-ուղղորդվող հարթակի միջոցով նախագիծը տեղանքին ճշգրիտ համապատասխանեցնելու համար։ Արևային վահանակները դասավորված են հատվածներով՝ 60 x 35 մետր չափսի հարթակների վրա, որոնք մոտավորապես հինգ բասկետբոլի դաշտի չափ են։ Վահանակները երկկողմանի են, յուրաքանչյուր վահանակ թեքված է 15 աստիճանի անկյան տակ, որպեսզի հետևի մասը կլանի ջրից անդրադարձած արևի լույսը մեծացնելով էներգիայի ընդհանուր արտադրությունը։
Լիարժեք հզորությամբ օբյեկտը տարեկան կարտադրի մոտավորապես 1.78 ՏՎտժ էլեկտրաէներգիա, որը համարժեք է մոտավորապես 2.6-2.7 միլիոն մարդու էլեկտրաէներգիայի սպառմանը։ Այդ էներգիան մատակարարվում է ցանց 66 կՎ ստորջրյա մալուխների միջոցով և փոխանցվում ցամաքային էլեկտրահաղորդման գծերի 220 կՎ ենթակայանի միջոցով։ Ինտելեկտուալ համակարգը վերահսկում է ֆերմայի տարածքում եղանակը և ընդհանուր պայմանները արձագանքելով քամու ուժգնությանը, ալիքներին և սառույցին։
