Իտալական Միլանում և Կորտինա դ’Ամպեցոյում ընթացող 25-րդ ձմեռային Օլիմպիական խաղերի երրորդ մրցումային օրը պայքարի մեջ մտավ Հայաստանի օլիմպիական հավաքականի առաջին ներկայացուցիչը՝ դահուկորդ Կատյա Գալստյանը։

33-ամյա փորձառու մարզուհու համար, որը մասնակցել է նաև 2014, 2018 և 2022 թվականների Խաղերին, սա կարիերայի չորրորդ Օլիմպիադան է։ Գալստյանը մեկնարկեց կանանց սկիաթլոնի մրցումներում, որն ընդգրկում է 20 կմ ընդհանուր մրցատարածություն (10 կմ դասական և 10 կմ ազատ ոճով):

Մրցավազքը բավականին բարդ ընթացք ունեցավ մասնակիցների համար․ եզրագիծը չկարողացան հատել ընդհանուր առմամբ 19 դահուկորդ։ Ցավոք, նրանց թվում էր նաև Հայաստանի ներկայացուցիչը։ Գալստյանը հաղթահարեց առաջին՝ դասական ոճով նախատեսված 10 կմ հատվածը, սակայն ազատ ոճի մրցատարածությունում դուրս մնաց պայքարից և չավարտեց մրցելույթը։

Մրցանակային եռյակը Օրվա հերոսները դարձան սկանդինավյան երկրների ներկայացուցիչները.

Ոսկի. Ֆրիդա Կարլսոն (Շվեդիա) — 53 րոպե 45 վայրկյան

Արծաթ. Էբա Անդերսոն (Շվեդիա) — 54 րոպե 36 վայրկյան

Բրոնզ. Հեյդի Վենգ (Նորվեգիա) — 55 րոպե 11 վայրկյան

Հայ դահուկորդի ելույթները Իտալիայում դեռ ավարտված չեն։ Փետրվարի 12-ին Կատյա Գալստյանը կրկին դուրս կգա մեկնարկի՝ այս անգամ ուժերը փորձելով 10 կմ ազատ ոճ (ինտերվալ) մրցաձևում։
