Լեհ գիտնականները, որոնք ուսումնասիրել են այս նյութի հատկությունները, հայտնաբերել են պոլիցիկլիկ արոմատիկ ածխաջրածինների (ՊԱԱ) բարձր կոնցենտրացիաներ՝ թունավոր նյութեր, որոնցից մի քանիսը քաղցկեղածին են։

Ամենափոքր մասնիկները հատկապես վտանգավոր էին. դրանք ոչ միայն պարունակում էին տոքսինների ամենաբարձր մակարդակը, այլև ավելի ակտիվորեն արտանետում էին դրանք ջրի և հողի մեջ, որտեղ այդ նյութերը պահպանվում են երկար տարիներ: Այս մասնիկներում պոլիքլորային հիդրոկարբոնատների (ՊՀԱ) կենսամատչելի համամասնությունը գերազանցում էր աղտոտված հողերի համար բնորոշ մակարդակները: Ավելին, ռետինե նյութի հետ շփված ջրում հայտնաբերվել են պոտենցիալ թունավոր մետաղներ, այդ թվում՝ ցինկը և պղինձը:

Էկոտոքսիկոլոգիական փորձարկումները հաստատեցին բացասական ազդեցությունը. հողի միկրոօրգանիզմները, ջրային կռունկի բույսերը և լյումինեսցենտ բակտերիաները ցույց տվեցին աճի կասեցում և գոյատևման նվազում նյութի, մասնավորապես՝ մանր ֆրակցիայի հետ շփման ժամանակ։

Հետազոտողները ընդգծում են, որ անվադողերի վերամշակումը մնում է կարևոր բնապահպանական խնդիր, սակայն վերջնական արտադրանքի անվտանգությունը պահանջում է վերագնահատում: Մասնագետները կոչ են անում ավելի խիստ կարգավորել գնդիկների չափսերը և մշակել անվտանգ այլընտրանքներ հանրային տարածքների համար, որտեղ մակերեսները անմիջական շփման մեջ են մտնում երեխաների հետ:
