Տավուշի մարզի Կողբ գյուղի մերձակայքում, անտառապատ բլուրների մեջ թաքնված է Մշկավանքը՝ միջնադարյան հայկական վանք, որի շուրջ դարեր շարունակ հյուսվել են զրույցներ, լեգենդներ ու խորհրդավոր պատմություններ։ Թեև վանքը պատմաբաններին հայտնի է որպես հոգևոր կենտրոն, տեղի բնակիչների համար այն վաղուց դարձել է նաև առասպելների տուն։

Մշկավանքը, ըստ ընդունված տվյալների, կառուցվել է 10–13-րդ դարերում և գործել որպես կրթական ու կրոնական կենտրոն։ Սակայն քարերի լռության մեջ շատ ավելին է թաքնված, քան գրված է պատմության գրքերում։

«Մշկ» անունի գաղտնիքը

Վանքի անվան շուրջ մինչ օրս չկա միանշանակ բացատրություն։ Տեղացիների շրջանում տարածված է մի զրույց, ըստ որի՝ «մշկ» բառը կապված է եղել թանկարժեք բույրերի կամ խունկի հետ, որոնք պահվել են վանքի գաղտնի սենյակներում։ Այլ պատմություն էլ ասում է, թե այստեղ ապրել է ճգնավոր մի վանական՝ Մշկ անունով, ում անվամբ էլ կոչվել է վանքը։

Սակայն ամենախորհրդավոր տարբերակն այն է, որ վանքը ժամանակին ծառայել է որպես գաղտնի ապաստարան, որտեղ պահվել են արժեքավոր ձեռագրեր ու սրբություններ՝ թշնամուց պաշտպանելու համար։

Գաղտնի անցումներ և կորած սենյակներ

Տարիներ շարունակ գյուղում պատմել են, որ Մշկավանքի տակ կան ստորգետնյա անցումներ, որոնք կապել են վանքը շրջակա բլուրների կամ նույնիսկ գյուղի հետ։ Թեև այդ անցումները երբեք ամբողջությամբ չեն ուսումնասիրվել, շատերը համոզված են՝ վանքի տարածքում դեռ կան չբացահայտված սենյակներ։

Ըստ մեկ այլ լեգենդի՝ այդ անցումներով վանականները վտանգի պահին կարողացել են փրկել սրբությունները՝ առանց աչքի ընկնելու։

Լույսեր, ձայներ և «վանքի պահապանը»

Տեղացիները պատմում են, որ գիշերային ժամերին Մշկավանքի տարածքում երբեմն լսվել են անբացատրելի ձայներ կամ տեսել են թույլ լույսեր։ Ոմանք ասում են՝ դա պարզապես քամու և անտառի խաղն է, մյուսները վստահ են՝ վանքը ունի իր «պահապանը», որը չի թույլ տալիս խաթարել սրբավայրի անդորրը։

Կա նույնիսկ հավատ, որ վանքը չի «ընդունում» մարդկանց, ովքեր վատ մտադրությամբ են մոտենում նրան։

Լուռ վանք՝ մեծ պատմությամբ

Այսօր Մշկավանքը մասամբ ավերակ վիճակում է, սակայն շարունակում է մնալ Կողբի շրջանի ամենախորհրդավոր վայրերից մեկը։ Այն ոչ միայն ճարտարապետական հուշարձան է, այլև հիշեցում այն ժամանակների մասին, երբ վանքերը եղել են հոգևոր, կրթական ու պաշտպանական կենտրոններ։
