Ուկրաինայի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Զելենսկին Axios-ին տված հարցազրույցում հայտարարել է, որ ուկրաինացի ժողովուրդը կմերժի խաղաղության համաձայնագիրը, որը նախատեսում է զորքերի միակողմանի դուրսբերում Դոնբասից և դրա փոխանցում Ռուսաստանին։

Մինչ Զելենսկին խոսում էր, ուկրաինացի և ռուսաստանցի բանակցողները հանդիպում էին Ժնևում՝ ուղիղ բանակցությունների երրորդ փուլի շրջանակում։ Հիմնական խոչընդոտը Դոնբասի նկատմամբ վերահսկողությունն է, որի մոտ 10%-ը առաջվա պես ուկրաինացիների ձեռքում է։

Զելենսկին նշել է, որ ամերիկացի միջնորդներ Սթիվ Ուիթքոֆը և Ջարեդ Քուշները իրեն հայտնել են, որ Ռուսաստանն իսկապես ցանկանում է դադարեցնել պատերազմը, և որ նա պետք է համակարգի իր բանակցային թիմի հետ այդ հիմքով՝ նախքան բանակցությունները սկսելը։

Սակայն Ուկրաինայի նախագահը հստակեցրել է, որ ինքը շատ ավելի հոռետես է։ Նա նաև Ուիթքոֆին և Քուշներին խորհուրդ է տվել չփորձել ստիպել իրեն վաճառել խաղաղության այնպիսի տեսլական, որն իր սեփական ժողովուրդը «ձախողված պատմություն» կհամարի:

Զելենսկին հայտարարել է, որ «անարդար» է, որ նախագահ Թրամփը հրապարակավ կոչ է անում Ուկրաինային, այլ ոչ թե Ռուսաստանին, զիջումների գնալ խաղաղության համար։

Նա պարզաբանել է, որ չնայած Թրամփի համար ավելի հեշտ կարող է լինել ճնշում գործադրել Ուկրաինայի վրա, քան շատ ավելի խոշոր Ռուսաստանի վրա, երկարատև խաղաղության ճանապարհը Ռուսաստանի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինին «հաղթանակ զիջելու» մեջ չէ։

Վերջին օրերին Թրամփը երկու անգամ հայտարարել է, որ զիջումներ անելու պարտականությունը Զելենսկունն է։ «Հուսով եմ՝ դա սոսկ նրա մարտավարությունն է, այլ ոչ թե բուն որոշումը»,- ասել է նա
