«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

Ներկայում դժվար թե լինի որևէ մեկը, ով չի լսել «կվադրակոպտերի» մասին: Դա ուղղաթիռի տեսակ է, որի կրիչները չորս պտուտակներ են, որոնք պտտվում են հակառակ ուղղություններով։

Այնուամենայնիվ, քչերը գիտեն, որ չորս պտուտակներով առաջին ուղղաթիռը հայտնագործվել է դեռ 1922 թվականին ԱՄՆ Օհայո նահանգի Դեյթոն քաղաքում։ Նախագծողն ու առաջին օդաչուն եղել է ամերիկացի գիտնական Գեորգի Ալեքսանդրովիչ Բոտեզատը, որը ծնվել է Սանկտ Պետերբուրգում, իսկ ավելի ուշ հրավիրվել է աշխատելու ԱՄՆ։ Օդուժի կարիքների համար այն ժամանակվա չափանիշներով հեղափոխական թռչող սարք ստեղծելու նպատակով նրան հատկացվել էր երկու հարյուր հազար դոլար։ Այսպիսով, աշխարհի առաջին ուղղաթիռը, որն ուներ չորս ռոտոր, օդ է բարձրացվել 1922 թվականին և մինչև 1923 թվականը մոտ հարյուր թռիչք է իրականացրել: Այն ուներ ալ յումինե շրջանակ և կշռում էր հազար վեց հարյուր կիլոգրամ, հզորությունը՝ հարյուր յոթանասուն ձիաուժ, իսկ տարողունակությունը՝ մինչև չորս հարյուր հիսուն կիլոգրամ։ Միաժամանակ առավելագույն արագությունը կարող էր հասնել ժամում հիսուն կիլոմետրի, իսկ թռիչքի աշխատանքային բարձրությունը հինգ մետր էր, առավելագույնը՝ տասը մետր։ Այդ սարքը ԱՄՆ ռազմաօդային ուժերի առաջին ուղղաթիռն էր, որն իրականացնում էր վերահսկվող թռիչք: Սակայն դրա զանգվածային արտադրությունն այդպես էլ չսկսվեց։ Դա, հավանաբար, պայմանավորված էր նրանով, որ գաղափարը ժամանակից առաջ էր ընկել։ Այն ժամանակվա կվադրոկոպտերները հագեցած էին մեկ շարժիչով, որը պահանջում էր հատուկ փոխանցման տուփ, և անիրագործելի էր դրա զանգվածային արտադրությունն իրականացնել։

Հետագա տարիներին բազմիցս փորձեր են արվել վերադառնալ այդ սարքերին, սակայն նախատիպերի ստեղծումից այն կողմ չեն անցել։ Չնայած այդ ամենին, արդեն այն ժամանակ կվադրոկոպտերները համարվում էին անօդաչու թռչող սարքեր: Ավելի ուշ կվադրոկոպտերներն արժանացան ուշադրության ու ժողովրդականության ավիամոդելավորման միջավայրում, քանի որ դրանց ստեղծումը բարդ չէր և պահանջում էր հեշտ ճարվող սարքեր: Առաջադեմ կարգավորիչների հայտնվելով՝ նման անօդաչու թռչող սարքերի կառավարման գործընթացը նույնպես շատ ավելի պարզ էր դարձել: Կային սարքեր, որոնք ունեին չորսից ավելի հիմնական ռոտորներ, դրանք մուլտիկոպտերներն էին։ Նման մեքենաները թռիչքի ժամանակ ավելի շատ հնարավորություններ ունեն, օրինակ՝ մեկ շարժիչի խափանման դեպքում փափուկ վայրէջք կատարելու ունակությունը։

Հետագայում, տեխնոլոգիաների կատարելագործմամբ, կոպտերները՝ որպես անօդաչու սարքեր, սկսեցին լայնորեն կիրառվել։ Այսօր դրանք անգամ թեթև քաշով են՝ մի քանի կիլոգրամի կարգի, բայց կարող են թռչել 2-3 կիլոմետր, հատուկ տեսախցիկով հնարավոր է լուսանկարել և տեսագրել դժվար հասանելի առարկաները, վերահսկել տարածքը: Մարդիկ սիրում են դրանցից ունենալ պարզապես զվարճանալու համար, քանի որ դրանք թանկ չեն և հեշտ կառավարվող են նույնիսկ երեխաների կողմից: Բայց, իհարկե, առաջնային դրանց կատարելագործումն ու արդիականացումը իրականացնում են զինվորականները:
