ՖԻՖԱ-ի նախկին նախագահ Յոզեֆ Բլատերը քննադատել է ԱՄՆ-ում, Մեքսիկայում և Կանադայում կայանալիք 2026 թվականի աշխարհի առաջնության ձևաչափը։
Բլատերն իր դժգոհությունն է հայտնել այն փաստի առթիվ, որ մրցաշարի հանդիպումների ճնշող մեծամասնությունը կայանալու է ԱՄՆ-ում։ Հիշեցնենք, որ ԱԱ-2026-ը կընդունեն 16 քաղաքներ, որոնցից 11-ը՝ ամերիկյան, 3-ը՝ մեքսիկական և 2-ը՝ կանադական։
«Այս աշխարհի առաջնությունից մեծապես կշահի Միացյալ Նահանգները, բայց ոչ հանդիսատեսը։ Առհասարակ, ֆուտբոլի աշխարհի առաջնությունը չպետք է անցկացվի մի երկրում, որը կարող է մուտքի արտոնագիր (վիզա) չտրամադրել, ինչպես դա անում է ԱՄՆ-ը։ Սխալ է, որ ընդունող երկրները հանդիպումների անհավասար բաժին ունեն։ Երեք երկրներից երկուսն ընդհանուր սեղանից միայն փշրանքներ են ստացել։
Ամբողջ այս մրցաշարը փողի մասին է՝ փող, փող ու էլի փող։ Թրամփն ու Ինֆանտինոն այնտեղ են, որպեսզի առավելագույն շահույթ ապահովեն այս առաջնությունից։ Բայց դա երբեք չի եղել աշխարհի առաջնության նպատակը։ Ցավալի է տեսնել, թե ինչի է վերածվել ֆուտբոլը։ Միացյալ Նահանգներում օտար ամեն ինչի նկատմամբ վարկաբեկիչ քաղաքականություն է իրականացվում։ Եվ սա տխուր է ֆուտբոլի սոցիալական ու մշակութային արժեքի տեսանկյունից», — Բլատերի խոսքերն է մեջբերում CBC-ն՝ հղում անելով Radio-Canada-ին։
Հիշեցնենք, որ Բլատերը ՖԻՖԱ-ն գլխավորել է 1998 թվականից և պաշտոնը լքել է 2015-ին՝ կոռուպցիոն սկանդալի ֆոնին։ 2015 թվականի դեկտեմբերին ՖԻՖԱ-ի էթիկայի կոմիտեի արբիտրաժային պալատը 8 տարով ֆուտբոլից հեռացրեց Բլատերին և ՈւԵՖԱ-ի այն ժամանակվա նախագահ Միշել Պլատինիին։ Հետագայում Բլատերի որակազրկման ժամկետը կրճատվեց մինչև 6 տարի, իսկ Պլատինիինը՝ 4 տարի։
