Ախթալայի և հարակից գյուղերի հոգևոր հովիվ Տեր Հեթում քահանա Թարվերդյանը Մեծ Պահքի այս օրերին Հովելի մարգարեությանն է անդրադարձել՝ նշելով.
«Այսօր Մեծ պահքի 17-րդ օրն է, և մեր խորհրդածության նյութը Հովելի մարգարեության խոսքերն են (2.21–31)։ Այս հատվածը հնչում է որպես հույսի ավետիս՝ ավերակներից հետո, լռությունից հետո, երբ մարդը սովոր է մտածել, թե ամեն ինչ վերջացել է։
Մարգարեն դիմում է ոչ միայն մարդուն, այլ ամբողջ արարչությանը. «Մի՛ վախեցիր, երկիր…»։ Սա խոր փիլիսոփայական միտք ունի. վախը ոչ միայն հոգեբանական վիճակ է, այլ նաև գոյաբանական խախտում։ Երբ մարդը վախենում է, աշխարհը դադարում է լինել տուն և դառնում է վտանգ։ Իսկ Աստծու խոսքը վախին հակադրում է խոստումը՝ որ կյանքը կարող է կրկին ծաղկել այնտեղ, որտեղ թվում էր՝ միայն անապատ կա։
Հատկապես կարևոր է խոսքը՝ «Ես կվերադարձնեմ ձեզ այն տարիները, որոնք կերան մորեխները»։ Այստեղ խոսքը միայն նյութական կորուստների մասին չէ, այլ կորսված ժամանակի, կորսված իմաստի։ Մարդու կյանքի ամենամեծ ցավերից մեկը ոչ թե պարզապես տառապանքն է, այլ զգացումը, թե տարիներն անցել են անիմաստ։ Հովելի մարգարեությունը ասում է՝ Աստված կարող է բուժել ոչ միայն վերքերը, այլ նաև անցյալը։ Նրա շնորհը կարող է իմաստ տալ նույնիսկ այն ժամանակներին, որոնք մեզ թվում էին դատարկ ու մութ։
Բայց հատվածի գագաթնակետը Սուրբ Հոգու խոստումն է. «Իմ Հոգուց պիտի թափեմ ամեն մարմնի վրա»։ Սա հեղափոխական միտք է հին աշխարհի համար. Աստծու ներկայությունը այլևս միայն ընտրյալների կամ տաճարի մեջ չէ, այլ ամեն մարդու ներսում։ Փիլիսոփայորեն սա նշանակում է, որ մարդը դադարում է լինել պարզապես կենսաբանական էակ և դառնում է հոգևոր սուբյեկտ՝ կարող տեսնել, երազել, մարգարեանալ, այսինքն՝ մասնակցել ճշմարտության բացահայտմանը։
Մեծ պահքի ճանապարհին այս խոսքը մեզ սովորեցնում է երեք բան. առաջին՝ վախը վերջնական իրականություն չէ, երկրորդ՝ կորուստը կարող է դառնալ վերականգման սկիզբ, երրորդ՝ մարդը կոչված է ապրել ոչ միայն հացի, այլ նաև Հոգու զորությամբ։
Այսպես Հովելի մարգարեությունը մեզ հիշեցնում է, որ ապաշխարությունը միայն մեղքից հեռանալ չէ, այլ նաև հույսի վերադարձ։ Երբ մարդը դարձի է գալիս, աշխարհը ևս սկսում է փոխվել նրա շուրջը։ Եվ պահքը դառնում է ոչ թե սոսկ զրկում, այլ ներքին գարուն՝ երբ հոգին կրկին սովորում է լսել Աստծու շունչը իր ներսում»։
