«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

Սենսոր դեգրավացիայի խցիկը (կամ` ֆլոատ խցիկ, մեկուսացման խցիկ) հատուկ պարկուճ է, որի մեջ մարդը զրկված է արտաքին գրգռիչների մեծ մասից՝ լույսից, ձայնից, գրավիտացիոն ճնշումից և այլն։

Սովորաբար, խցիկը լցված է լինում ջրով՝ աղի բարձր կոնցենտրացիայով (մագնեզիումի սուլֆատ կամ «անգլիական աղ»), ինչը թույլ է տալիս մարմնին ազատորեն լողալ ջրի երեսին առանց ջանքերի։ Ջրի և օդի ջերմաստիճանը նույնն է, ինչ մաշկի ջերմաստիճանը, ուստի մարդը չի զգում իր մարմնի սահմանների զգացողությունը։

Սենսոր դեգրավացիայի խցիկի հեղինակ է համարվում ամերիկացի նյարդաֆիզիոլոգ, հոգեվերլուծաբան և գիտակցության հետազոտող Ջոն Կարլ Լիլլին։ Լիլլին հետաքրքրված էր հարցով` ի՞նչ է պատահում ուղեղի հետ, երբ բոլոր արտաքին գրգռիչները լիովին վերացվում են։ Նա ցանկանում էր պարզել, թե արտաքին գրգռիչներն անջատելու դեպքում գիտակցությունը կշարունակի՞ ակտիվորեն գործել, թե՞ «կանջատվի»։ Եվ նման առաջին խցիկը կառուցվել է ԱՄՆ-ի Հոգեկան առողջության ազգային ինստիտուտում (NIMH): Շնչառական դիմակ կրող և գլուխն ամբողջությամբ խավարի մեջ ընկղմած հետազոտվողին տեղավորել են ջրով լցված ուղղահայաց բաքի մեջ։ Նպատակն էր մեկուսացնել հետազոտվողին բոլոր զգայական խթաններից (լույս, ձայն, ջերմաստիճան, հպում)։ Արդյունքները զարմացրել են գիտնականներին. գիտակցությունը կորցնելու փոխարեն մասնակիցները հայտնվել են խոր թուլացման, ընկալման փոփոխված վիճակների մեջ, իսկ որոշները նշել են նույնիսկ հալ յուցինացիաների և միստիկական ապրումների մասին։

Հետո այս գաղափարը զարգացում է ապրել 1960-1970-ականներին:

Նման խցիկները սկսել են օգտագործվել հոգեթերապիայի, մեդիտացիայի և ուղեղի վրա զգայական ազդեցության ուսումնասիրության մեջ։ Առաջացել են ավելի հարմարավետ մոդելներ, օրինակ՝ լողալու խցիկներ, որտեղ կարելի էր լողալ աղի ջրի վրա առանց շնչառական դիմակի։ Ջոն Լիլլին նաև սկսել է ուսումնասիրել գիտակցության փոփոխված վիճակները՝ օգտագործելով հոգեակտիվ նյութեր (օրինակ՝ կետամին), ինչը հակասություններ է առաջացրել գիտական շրջանակներում։

Ներկայում սենսոր դեգրավացիայի խցիկներն օգտագործվում են բժշկության մեջ սթրեսը նվազեցնելու, անքնությունը, դեպրեսիան և քրոնիկ ցավը բուժելու, սպորտում մարզումներից հետո վերականգնումը արագացնելու, հոգեբանության մեջ կենտրոնացումը բարելավելու և անհանգստությունը թեթևացնելու համար, իսկ առողջության և սպա կենտրոններում՝ որպես խոր թուլացման մեթոդ (մասնավորաբար՝ լողալ)։

Այժմ արդեն գիտականորեն հաստատված է, որ 30 րոպե սենսոր դեգրավացիայի խցիկում գտնվելը համարժեք է 4 ժամ քնին: Վերականգնման և թուլացման առումով նման կարճատև սեանսը հաճախ համեմատվում է լիարժեք հանգստի հետ։ Շատերը այդ խցիկում գտնվելու զգացողությունը նկարագրում են որպես անկշռելիություն կամ «հանգիստ դատարկության մեջ ընկղմում»։ Ուսումնասիրությունները նաև ցույց են տվել ալֆա և բետտա ուղեղային ալիքների աճ, որոնք բնորոշ են մեդիտացիային և ստեղծագործականությանը։

2000-ական թվականներից ի վեր սենսոր դեգրավացիայի խցիկները դարձել են առողջապահության ոլորտի մի մասը։ Այժմ նման պարկուճներ կարելի է գտնել գրեթե բոլոր խոշոր քաղաքներում։
