Փաշինյանի սնանկությունը՝ ուղիղ եթերում։  Այս մասին գրել է քաղաքագետ Սուրեն Սուրենյանցը։

«Երևանի մետրոպոլիտենում տեղի ունեցած միջադեպը, որտեղ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը բարձր տոնով և ակնհայտ ագրեսիվ վարքագծով դիմել է արցախցի կնոջը՝ 1993 թվականին Արցախյան ազատամարտում զոհված դաշտային հրամանատար Մերուժան Մոսիյանի դստերը՝ Արմինե Մոսիյանին, բացահայտում է իշխանության արժեքային սնանկությունը։ Խնդիրը միայն էթիկայի խախտումը չէ, խնդիրը քաղաքական պատասխանատվությունից հետևողական խուսափումն է՝ զուգակցված հասարակության ներսում բաժանարար գծերի գիտակցված խորացմամբ։

Փաշինյանի կողմից օգտագործված «փախածներ» ձևակերպումը բացահայտում է ոչ միայն քաղաքական ցինիզմ, այլև իրականության միտումնավոր աղավաղում։

Արցախցիները չեն «փախել»։ Նրանք դարձել են Ադրբեջանի ցեղասպան քաղաքականության զոհերը՝ միաժամանակ կրելով նաև Փաշինյանի ուրացման քաղաքականության հետևանքները։ Պետությունը, որը չի ապահովել իր քաղաքացիների անվտանգությունը, չունի բարոյական իրավունք նրանց մեղադրելու կամ պիտակավորելու։ Առավել վտանգավոր է խնդրի ներքին՝ հասարակական շերտը։ Այսպիսի հռետորաբանությունը ոչ միայն արդարացնում է քաղաքական ձախողումները, այլև ձևավորում է վտանգավոր նարատիվ՝ ուղղված արցախահայության դեմ։

«Փախածների» պիտակը վերածվում է սոցիալական ստիգմայի, որը քայքայում է հանրային համերաշխությունը և խորացնում արդեն իսկ առկա անվստահությունը։ Պետության ղեկավարը, որը հանրային վայրում, մանկահասակ երեխայի ներկայությամբ, մատ է թափ տալիս և բղավում նրա մոր, պատերազմի զոհի ընտանիքի անդամի վրա, ոչ միայն խախտում է քաղաքական վարքագծի տարրական նորմերը, այլ ցուցադրում է իշխանության մի մոդել, որտեղ ագրեսիան փոխարինում է պատասխանատվությանը, իսկ մեղադրանքը՝ հաշվետվողականությանը։ Այս միջադեպը ևս մեկ անգամ վկայում է, որ Հայաստանի ճգնաժամը միայն արտաքին չէ։

Այն խորապես ներքին է՝ պայմանավորված իշխանության քաղաքական և արժեքային ճգնաժամով։ Նման իշխանությունը դարձել է ազգային անվտանգության սպառնալիք»,-գրել է նա։
