Ստամբուլում անցկացվող Միջխորհրդարանական միության 152-րդ վեհաժողովի շրջանակում ՀՀ Ազգային ժողովի արտաքին հարաբերությունների մշտական հանձնաժողովի նախագահ Սարգիս Խանդանյանը, հանձնաժողովի անդամ Հասմիկ Հակոբյանն ու ԱԺ ֆինանսավարկային եւ բյուջետային հարցերի մշտական հանձնաժողովի նախագահ Ծովինար Վարդանյանն ապրիլի 15-ին հանդիպել են Կանադայի պատվիրակության ղեկավար Ռոբ Օլիֆանթի հետ:

Հանդիպման ընթացքում կողմերը կարեւորել են Հայաստանի եւ Կանադայի միջեւ ձեւավորված բարեկամական հարաբերություններն ու ընդգծել բարձր մակարդակի քաղաքական երկխոսության եւ միջխորհրդարանական համագործակցության կարեւոր դերը երկկողմ հարաբերությունների զարգացման գործում:

Սարգիս Խանդանյանը բարձր է գնահատել Կանադայի Խորհրդարանական կենտրոնի իրականացրած «Աջակցություն Հայաստանի խորհրդարանին» ծրագիրը՝ նշելով դրա կարեւոր նշանակությունը Հայաստանի՝ որպես նոր ժողովրդավարության կայացման եւ զարգացման համար:

Քննարկվել են նաեւ տարածաշրջանային կապուղիների զարգացմանը միտված նախաձեռնությունները, մասնավորապես՝ «Թրամփի ուղի՝ հանուն միջազգային խաղաղության եւ բարգավաճման» (ԹՐԻՓՓ) նախագծի հնարավորությունները, որոնք ուղղված են Հայաստանի տարածքով բազմաձեւ տարանցիկ կապի ապահովմանը եւ նպաստում են տարածաշրջանային խաղաղության, կայունության եւ ինտեգրման ամրապնդմանը՝ հիմնված պետությունների ինքնիշխանության ու տարածքային ամբողջականության վրա:

Զրուցակիցները կարեւորել են տարածաշրջանում կայուն խաղաղության ամրապնդմանն ուղղված ջանքերը, ինչպես նաեւ ընդգծել տնտեսական համագործակցության ընդլայնման հնարավորությունները:

Հանդիպման ավարտին կողմերը վերահաստատել են համագործակցության խորացման պատրաստակամությունը՝ ի շահ երկու ժողովուրդների:
