Նանյանի տեխնոլոգիական համալսարանի (Սինգապուր) հետազոտողների միջազգային խումբը գտել է հնագույն աշխարհաքիմիական հանելուկներից մեկի հավանական բացատրությունը՝ ո՞ւր է կորել հնագույն կապարի զգալի մասը, որը պետք է առկա լիներ երկրակեղևում։ Հետազոտության արդյունքները հրապարակվել են Nature Communications ամսագրում։

«Կորած» կապարի պարադոքսը

Կապարը կարևոր տարր է երկրաբանական թվագրման համար, քանի որ դրա իզոտոպները թույլ են տալիս որոշել ապարների տարիքը և հետևել Երկրի պատմության ընթացքում տեղի ունեցած գործընթացներին։ Սակայն գիտնականները վաղուց նկատել էին մի անհամապատասխանություն. երկրակեղևի ապարներում հայտնաբերվում է զգալիորեն ավելի շատ «երիտասարդ» կապար, քան պետք է լիներ, մինչդեռ հնագույն կապարը կարծես թե «անհետացել է»։

Նոր հետազոտությունն առաջարկում է այս հանելուկի լուծումը. պակասող հնագույն կապարը, ամենայն հավանականությամբ, ոչ թե անհետացել է, այլ իջել է խորը՝ Երկրի մանթիա, և այնտեղ գտնվում է կայուն միացությունների տեսքով։

Կապարի սուլֆիդները ծայրահեղ պայմաններում

Գիտնականները մոդելավորել են կապարի և ծծմբի միացությունների վարքագիծը մանթիայի խորը շերտերին բնորոշ ճնշման և ջերմաստիճանի պայմաններում։ Հաշվարկները ցույց են տվել, որ կապարի սուլֆիդն ընդունակ է ձևավորել շատ կայուն բյուրեղային կառուցվածքներ, որոնք դիմանում են մինչև 5000 °C ջերմաստիճանի և նույնիսկ նման ծայրահեղ պայմաններում մնում են պինդ վիճակում։

Դրա շնորհիվ հնագույն կապարը միլիարդավոր տարիներ շարունակ կարող էր պահպանվել մանթիայի մեկուսացված «պահեստարաններում»՝ չբարձրանալով մակերևույթ և չխառնվելով այլ տարրերի հետ։

Ինչո՞ւ է կապարը երբեմն, այնուամենայնիվ, հայտնվում

Հետազոտությունը բացատրում է նաև, թե ինչու է հրաբխային ապարներում երբեմն հայտնաբերվում հնագույն կապարի հետքեր։ Որոշակի պայմաններում որոշ սուլֆիդային միացություններ կարող են մասնակիորեն հալվել և մագմատիկ հոսքերի հետ աստիճանաբար տեղափոխվել դեպի վեր։ Սա թույլ է տալիս, որ կապարի փոքր քանակություններ վերադառնան երկրակեղև։
