Կասկած հարուցող նշաններից են նաև ոչ պրոֆեսիոնալ դիզայնը, ապրանքանիշի տարրերի բացակայությունը կամ ընդհանուր ձևանմուշից շեղումները։ Past.am-ը հիշեցնում է՝ կարևոր է ուշադրություն դարձնել նաև հավելվածի թողարկման ամսաթվին և թարմացումների հաճախականությանը․ վստահելի ծրագրերը պարբերաբար թարմացվում են։

Մասնագետները խորհուրդ են տալիս հավելվածներ ներբեռնել բացառապես պաշտոնական հարթակներից և խուսափել անհայտ հղումներից։ Սա հատկապես կարևոր է բանկային հավելվածների դեպքում։ Տեղադրելուց առաջ անհրաժեշտ է ստուգել մշակողի անունը և համոզվել, որ այն համընկնում է տվյալ ընկերության պաշտոնական անվան հետ։

Օգտակար է նաև ուսումնասիրել օգտատերերի կարծիքները․ կասկածելի ակտիվության վերաբերյալ բազմաթիվ բողոքները կարող են նախազգուշացում լինել։ Խորհուրդ է տրվում երբեք չտեղադրել ծրագրեր էլեկտրոնային նամակներով կամ մեսենջերներով ստացված հղումներից։
