Վրաց ուղղափառ եկեղեցու ընդլայնված ժողովը, որի ժամանակ պետք է ընտրվի Համայն Վրաստանի Կաթողիկոս-Պատրիարքը, տեղի կունենա հաջորդ շաբաթ։ Այս մասին հայտարարել է Պատրիարքական գահի տեղապահ, Սենակիի և Չխորոծկուի միտրոպոլիտ Շիոն (Մուջիրի), հայտնում է 1tv.ge-ն:

Քվեարկությունը կանցկացվի երեք թեկնածուների միջև, որոնց ապրիլին ընտրել է Վրաց ուղղափառ եկեղեցու Սուրբ սինոդը:

Ընտրված կհամարվի այն թեկնածուն, ով կստանա ձայների կեսից ավելին, այսինքն՝ առնվազն 20 ձայն։

«Հաջորդ շաբաթ մենք պետք է անցկացնենք եկեղեցական ընդլայնված ժողով, որտեղ պետք է ընտրվի նոր Կաթողիկոս-Պատրիարք։ Ես ուզում եմ խնդրել մեր հոգևորականությանը, վանական համայնքին, ձեզնից յուրաքանչյուրին, մեր սիրելի հոտին՝ ուժեղացնել աղոթքները, որպեսզի մենք այս մեծ իրադարձությունն անցկացնենք արժանապատվորեն, խաղաղությամբ, սիրով, որպեսզի Աստծո կամքը դրսևորվի, և ընտրությունը, որոշումը օգտակար լինի մեր եկեղեցու և մեր ժողովրդի համար»,- հայտարարել է Շիո սրբազանը։

Հիշեցնենք, որ Համայն Վրաստանի Կաթողիկոս-Պատրիարք Իլյա II-ը վախճանվել է մարտի 17-ին՝ կյանքի 94-րդ տարում։ Մահվան պատճառը երիկամային, թոքային և սրտային անբավարարության զարգացումն էր։ Նրա պատրիարքությունը ամենաերկարն էր Վրաց ուղղափառ եկեղեցու պատմության մեջ։

Վրաց ուղղափառ եկեղեցու Սուրբ սինոդը ապրիլի 28-ին ընտրել է պատրիարքական գահի երեք թեկնածուների. նրանք են՝ Պատրիարքական գահի տեղապահ, Սենակիի և Չխորոծկուի միտրոպոլիտ Շիո Մուջիրին, Ռուիս-Ուրբնիսի միտրոպոլիտ Իովը և Փոթիի ու Խոբիի միտրոպոլիտ Գրիգոլը։
