Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը Կառավարությունում հյուրընկալել է պաշտոնական այցով Հայաստան ժամանած Լատվիայի Հանրապետության նախագահ Էդգարս Ռինկևիչսի գլխավորած պատվիրակությանը։

Փաշինյանը ողջունել է Լատվիայի նախագահի գլխավորած պատվիրակության այցը Հայաստան։ «Նախ և առաջ ցանկանում եմ շնորհակալություն հայտնել Ձեզ և Լատվիային՝ Եվրոպական քաղաքական համայնքի գագաթնաժողովը հյուրընկալելու մեր թեկնածությանն աջակցելու համար, և դա իսկապես պատմական իրադարձություն էր Հայաստանի համար։ Տեղի ունեցավ նաև Հայաստան–ԵՄ առաջին գագաթնաժողովը, որը նույնպես շատ կարևոր էր։ Եվ իհարկե, մենք տեսնում և զգում ենք Լատվիայի աճող աջակցությունը մեր ժողովրդավարությանը, բարեփոխումների օրակարգին և ԵՄ-ի հետ մեր համագործակցության խորացմանը»,– ասել է վարչապետը։ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը նշել է, որ Հայաստանը բարձր է գնահատում այս ամենը, և ընդգծել, որ Էդգարս Ռինկևիչսի այցը երկկողմ և բազմակողմ հարաբերությունների խորացման ևս մեկ համարձակ դրսևորում է։

Լատվիայի նախագահը շնորհակալություն է հայտնել ջերմ հյուրընկալության համար և հավելել, որ դեռևս 2015-ին ժամանել է Հայաստան՝ որպես Արտաքին գործերի նախարար։ «Բայց ես զարմացա, երբ իմացա, որ նախագահի մակարդակում սա առաջին այցն է 2009 թ.-ից ի վեր, այսինքն՝ 17 տարի անց։ Թույլ տվեք ասել, որ մենք Հայաստանին տեսնում ենք որպես շատ լավ ընկեր ու գործընկեր, թե՛ երկկողմ համագործակցության առումով, թե՛ Հայաստան-ԵՄ գործընկերության շրջանակում։ Մենք ողջունում ենք Եվրոպական ուղին սկսելու ձեր որոշումը, և իհարկե, կարող եք ամբողջովին ապավինել մեզ»,– ասել է Էդգարս Ռինկևիչսը և Նիկոլ Փաշինյանին փոխանցել Լատվիայի վարչապետի ջերմ ողջույնները։

Զրուցակիցները քննարկել են առևտրատնտեսական կապերի զարգացմանը, տարբեր ոլորտներում, այդ թվում՝ զբոսաշրջության, կրթության բնագավառներում համագործակցության ընդլայնմանը վերաբերող հարցեր։

Անդրադարձ է կատարվել Հայաստան–Եվրոպական հարաբերությունների զարգացմանը։ Այդ առումով, երկուստեք կարևորվել է ՀՀ–ԵՄ անդրանիկ գագաթնաժողովի անցկացումն ու վիզաների ազատականացման ուղղությամբ գրանցված առաջընթացը։ Լատվիայի նախագահը հայտնել է իր երկրի աջակցությունը վիզաների ազատականացման գործընթացում և համոզմունք հայտնել, որ այն կնպաստի նաև երկկողմ զբոսաշրջային կապերի ընդլայնմանը։

Մտքեր են փոխանակվել նաև Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի միջև հաստատված խաղաղության, ինչպես նաև տարածաշրջանային նշանակության այլ հարցերի շուրջ։
