Իսրայելի վարչապետ Բենիամին Նեթանյահուն հայտարարել է, որ Իսրայելի պաշտպանության բանակի (ՑԱՀԱԼ) կողմից պատմական Բոֆորի ամրոցի և Լիբանանի հարավում գտնվող ռազմավարական բարձունքների գրավումը դարձել է իսրայելական քաղաքականության «դրամատիկ փոփոխություն» և արտացոլում է «Հեզբոլլահի» դեմ ռազմական գործողության ընդլայնումը, հաղորդում է Times of Israel-ը։
Նրա գրասենյակի հրապարակած տեսաուղերձում նա ընդգծել է, որ Իսրայելը մտադիր է ամրապնդել վերահսկողությունը այն տարածքների նկատմամբ, որոնք նախկինում գտնվել են «Հեզբոլլահի» ազդեցության տակ։ «Բոֆորի գրավումը դրամատիկ փուլ է և դրամատիկ շրջադարձ՝ մեր վարած քաղաքականության մեջ։ Այժմ ես հանձնարարել եմ խորացնել և ընդլայնել մեր ներկայությունն այն շրջաններում, որոնք նախկինում գտնվել են «Հեզբոլլահի» վերահսկողության տակ», — հայտարարել է Նեթանյահուն։
Նա այս հայտարարությունն արել է Լիբանանի կողմից Իսրայելի հյուսիսի ուղղությամբ շարունակվող հրթիռային և անօդաչու թռչող սարքերի հարձակումների ֆոնին։ Նեթանյահուն հիշեցրել է, որ Բոֆորի ամրոցն արդեն խորհրդանշական նշանակություն ուներ Իսրայելի համար․ այն գրավվել էր 1982 թվականին՝ Լիբանանի առաջին պատերազմի ընթացքում, և պահվել մինչև զորքերի դուրսբերումը 2000 թվականին՝ բազմամյա հակամարտությունից հետո։
«Այսօր մենք այլ կերպ վերադարձանք Բոֆոր։ Մենք վերադարձանք միասնական, վճռական և առավել ուժեղ, քան երբևէ», — ասել է նա՝ հավելելով, որ Իսրայելը «կոտրել է վախի պատնեշը» և գործում է մի քանի ճակատներում՝ Սիրիայում, Գազայում և Լիբանանում։
Վարչապետը նաև հայտարարել է «Հեզբոլլահի» մարտիկների շրջանում զգալի կորուստների մասին՝ պնդելով, որ ընթացիկ էսկալացիայի սկզբից ի վեր ոչնչացվել են հազարավոր զինյալներ, սակայն այս տվյալները չեն հաստատվում անկախ աղբյուրների կողմից։
Նեթանյահուն ընդգծել է, որ գործողությունը կշարունակվի։ «Սա ժամանակ կպահանջի, սակայն մենք առաջադրանքը կհասցնենք մինչև վերջ», - ասել է նա։
