Փենսիլվանիայի համալսարանի գիտնականների միջազգային խումբն առաջարկել է մի մեխանիզմ, որը կարող է բացահայտել Ամատերասու մասնիկի ծագումը. տիեզերական ճառագայթներում երբևէ արձանագրված ամենաառեղծվածային և էներգետիկ օբյեկտներից մեկը: Նրանց հաշվարկներով՝ այդպիսի մասնիկներն առաջանում են ծայրահեղ աստղաֆիզիկական պայմաններում ծանր ատոմային միջուկների արագացման արդյունքում:

Աշխատանքը հրապարակվել է Physical Review Letters (PRL) ամսագրում։

Ռեկորդային էներգիայի հանելուկը

Ամատերասու մասնիկը ֆիքսվել է 2021 թվականին ԱՄՆ-ի հարավ-արևմուտքում գտնվող Telescope Array դետեկտորային համակարգի կողմից: Դրա էներգիան հասել է 244 էկզաէլեկտրոնվոլտի (244 էԷՎ), ինչը ֆանտաստիկ մեծություն է: Համեմատության համար՝ այդպիսի էներգիան համարժեք է 150 կմ/ժ արագությամբ թռչող թենիսի գնդակի կինետիկ էներգիային, որը սակայն կենտրոնացած է մեկ սուբատոմային մասնիկի մեջ:

Այն ուղղությունը, որտեղից եկել էր մասնիկը, ցույց չէր տալիս որևէ հայտնի աստղաֆիզիկական աղբյուր, ինչը ֆիզիկոսներին կանգնեցրել էր փակուղու առջև:

Արագացման նոր մեխանիզմը

Ֆիզիկոս Կոհտա Մուրասեն և նրա գործընկերները մշակել են մի մոդել, համաձայն որի՝ նման մասնիկների աղբյուր կարող են հանդիսանալ գերծանր միջուկները՝ երկաթից ավելի ծանր ատոմները (օրինակ՝ կապարը կամ ուրանը): Այս միջուկները արագանում են հզոր օբյեկտներում, ինչպիսիք են ակտիվ գալակտիկական միջուկները կամ գալակտիկաների կուտակումները:

Շրջակա ճառագայթման ֆոտոնների հետ փոխազդեցության ժամանակ տեղի են ունենում ֆոտոմիջուկային ռեակցիաներ. ծանր միջուկները մասնակիորեն քայքայվում են՝ արձակելով կոլոսալ կինետիկ էներգիայով օժտված առանձին նուկլոններ (պրոտոններ և նեյտրոններ):

Մոդելը լավ է համապատասխանում դիտողական տվյալներին: Այն նաև բացատրում է, թե ինչու չի հաջողվել պարզել Ամատերասու մասնիկի ճշգրիտ աղբյուրը. միջգալակտիկական մագնիսական դաշտերում ցրումը լվանում (աղավաղում) է դրա գալու ուղղությունը:

Բացահայտման նշանակությունը

Առաջարկված մեխանիզմն օգնում է հասկանալ, թե ինչպես կարող են Տիեզերքում ծնվել ռեկորդային էներգիայով մասնիկներ, և նոր հայացք է ձգում ամենաէքստրեմալ աստղաֆիզիկական օբյեկտներում տեղի ունեցող գործընթացներին:

Հեղինակները նշում են, որ վարկածը կարելի է ստուգել գամմա-տիրույթում գալակտիկաների կուտակումների ապագա դիտարկումների և հաջորդ սերնդի նեյտրինային աստղադիտակների օգնությամբ:
