«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

Հրաձգությունը, որպես սպորտաձև, թերևս ամենահին մարզական մրցումներից է: Դրա արմատները հասնում են ընդհուպ մինչև հեռավոր անցյալի նետաձգության մրցաշարերը, երբ օգտագործել են նետ ու աղեղ: Մարդու կողմից հրազենի գյուտից ի վեր միշտ անցկացվել են հրաձգության մրցումներ՝ սկզբից մուշկետներով, ապա՝ հրացաններով։ Հրաձգային զենքերի գյուտի հետ մեկտեղ փամփուշտներով կրակելը սկսել է վերածվել ինքնուրույն սպորտային կարգի:

15-րդ դարի կեսերից Շվեյցարիայում սկսել են անցկացվել ճշգրիտ հրաձգության մրցաշարեր։ Հետագայում դրանք վերածվել են հրաձգային ազգային առաջնությունների տարբեր տեսակի զենքերից (հրացաններ, ատրճանակներ)։ 1824 թվականին տեղի են ունեցել հրացանով հրաձգության առաջին մրցումները։ 19-րդ դարում նմանատիպ մրցույթներ ու առաջնություններ սկսել են կազմակերպվել բոլոր եվրոպական երկրներում: Պիեռ դը Կուբերտենի առաջարկով, որն ատրճանակով հրաձգության Ֆրանսիայի յոթակի չեմպիոն էր, հրացանով և ատրճանակով հրաձգությունը ներառվել է 1896 թվականի առաջին ժամանակակից օլիմպիական խաղերի ծրագրում։ Օլիմպիական խաղերի ընթացքում այդ կարգում մեդալների 5 հավաքածու է շնորհվել։ Այդ ժամանակվանից սպորտային հրաձգությունը մշտապես ներառվել է բոլոր օլիմպիական խաղերի ծրագրերում, բացառությամբ 1924 և 1928 թվականների օլիմպիական խաղերի։

Սպորտային հրաձգության աշխարհի առաջին առաջնությունն անցկացվել է 1897 թվականին Լիոնում։ Դրան մասնակցում էր ընդամենը 25 հրաձիգ։

1907 թվականը Հրաձգային ֆեդերացիաների միջազգային միության հիմնադրման տարին է: Սկզբնական շրջանում այն ներառում էր ընդամենը 8 մասնակից երկիր։ 14 տարի անց այդ կազմակերպությունը վերանվանվել է Հրաձգության միջազգային միություն, ևս 26 տարի անց այն դարձել է Հրաձգային սպորտի միջազգային միություն։

Ցարական Ռուսաստանում հրաձգության սպորտի մասսայականացումը սկսվել է 19րդ դարի վերջին։ 1898 թվականին Խաբարովսկում են առաջին անգամ անցկացվել հրաձգության մրցումներ, որոնք խթան են հանդիսացել հետագայում երկրում առաջնությունների և առաջնությունների անցկացման համար: 1917 թվականից սպորտային ակումբները սկսել են դնել խորհրդային հրաձգության դպրոցի հիմքերը։

20-րդ դարում շատ տարբեր ուղղումներ են տեղի ունեցել սպորտային հրաձգության մեջ՝ հրաձգային զենքերի կատարելագործման շնորհիվ: Այսօր Օլիմպիական խաղերը ներառում են հրացանից հրաձգության հինգ դիսցիպլին՝ կանանց՝ 2 և տղամարդկանց՝ 3, նույնքան դիսցիպլին էլ կա ատրճանակով հրաձգության դեպքում: Սպորտային հրաձգությունը բավականին բարդ մարզաձև է։ Ճշգրիտ կրակել սովորելը շատ ժամանակ և ջանք է պահանջում: Սպորտային հրաձգությունն օգնում է զարգացնել հաստատակամությունը, սառնասրտությունը, համբերությունը և հաղթելու ցանկությունը: Ներկայում սպորտային հրաձգությունը դարձել է սպորտաձև, որտեղ մրցույթում հաղթելու համար պետք է սկզբից հաղթես ինքդ քեզ։
