Մադրիդի «Ռեալի» և Ֆրանսիայի ազգային հավաքականի հարձակվող Կիլիան Մբապեն պատասխանել է այն հարցին, թե ով է լավագույնն իր, Լիոնել Մեսսիի, Էրլինգ Հալանդի և Հարի Քեյնի քառյակում, ինչպես նաև խոսել է աշխարհի առաջնություններում ռմբարկուների ռեկորդի մասին:

«Միշտ հաճելի է խաղալ ազգային ընտրանու կազմում, չկա ավելի կարևոր բան, քան ազգային հավաքականը։ Հավաքականի կազմում 100 հանդիպում անցկացնելը պատմական նվաճում է, հատկապես, երբ դա տեղի է ունենում աշխարհի առաջնությունում, բայց արդյունքն ամենակարևորն է լինելու։ Ես գիտեի, որ Լիոնելը գոլ կխփի Ալժիրին, նա միշտ է խփում։ Ինչ վերաբերում է ինձ, ապա ես հետ եմ մնում։

​ԱԱ-2026-ի խմբային փուլի առաջին տուրում Արգենտինայի հավաքականը Մեսսիի հեթ-տրիկի շնորհիվ 3-0 հաշվով ջախջախել է Ալժիրին, մինչդեռ Ռոնալդուի Պորտուգալիան չի կարողացել հաղթել Կոնգոյի Դեմոկրատական Հանրապետությանը (1-1)։

​Մբապեն ու Մեսսին նախկինում միասին հանդես են եկել ֆրանսիական ՊՍԺ-ի կազմում։ Նրանք միմյանց դեմ մրցել են նաև ԱԱ-2022-ի եզրափակիչում, որտեղ արգենտինացիները հաղթեցին Ֆրանսիայի հավաքականին և նվաճեցին աշխարհի չեմպիոնի տիտղոսը։
