ԱՄՆ-ն Գերագույն դատարանի որոշման հիման վրա չի ընդունի փախստականների, հայտարարել է Սպիտակ տան վարչակազմի ղեկավարի տեղակալ Սթիվեն Միլլերը։

«Ամերիկայի դռները լիովին փակ են ապաստան հայցողների համար», – լրագրողներին ասել է Միլլերը՝ մեկնաբանելով Գերագույն դատարանի որոշումը։

Բացի այդ, Միլլերը սահմանին ապաստանի տրամադրման վերաբերյալ բոլոր դիմումները անվանել է «կեղծ»։

«Յուրաքանչյուր դեպքում դրանք կա՛մ հանցագործներ են, կա՛մ նրանք, ովքեր փնտրում են շահ, տնտեսական միգրանտներ, որոնք սոցիալական աջակցություն են փնտրում, և մյուսները գալիս են՝ ընտանիքի անդամների հետ վերամիավորվելու և այլն։ Բայց նրանց համար լավ նորությունն այն է, որ կան այլ երկրներ, որոնք պատրաստ են ընդունել նրանց», – նշել է Սպիտակ տան պաշտոնյան։

Ավելի վաղ ԱՄՆ Գերագույն դատարանը որոշել էր, որ ամերիկյան վարչակազմը կարող է չեղարկել Սիրիայից և Հայիթիից փախստականների ժամանակավոր պաշտպանված կարգավիճակը (TPS)։ Մեկ այլ որոշմամբ դատարանը նաև սահմանել է, որ ԱՄՆ-ի և Մեքսիկայի սահման ժամանող միգրանտները իրավունք չունեն ապաստանի տրամադրման դիմում ներկայացնել, քանի դեռ չեն հատել Մեքսիկայի հետ սահմանը, այսպիսով ամերիկացի սահմանապահները կարող են նրանց հետ ուղարկել հենց սահմանին։

Ինչպես նշում է The Washington Post-ը, սպասվում է, որ Գերագույն դատարանի որոշումը ազդեցություն կունենա ոչ միայն հայիթիական և սիրիական համայնքների վրա, այլև կարող է անդրադառնալ TPS ունեցող 17 երկրներից մոտավորապես 1,3 մլն միգրանտների վրա։ Անցյալ տարի, ինչպես նշում է հրատարակությունը, Գերագույն դատարանը թույլ էր տվել չեղարկել այս կարգավիճակը վենեսուելացիների համար։
