Սա վերջին ամենաթարմ դեպքն է, ի թիվս այլ կալանավորումների, գույքի բռնագրավումների, խուզարկությունների և այլ բռնաճնշումների, երբ թիրախավորվել են Հայաստանի ընդդիմադիր ուժերի ներկայացուցիչները՝ հունիսի 7-ի խորհրդարանական ընտրություններից առաջ և դրանցից հետո։

Չալաբյանի կալանավորումը տեղի է ունենում այն ժամանակ, երբ Հայաստանի Սահմանադրական դատարանը քննում է յոթ քաղաքական կուսակցությունների կողմից ներկայացված իրավական բողոքարկումները՝ կապված հունիսի 7-ի խորհրդարանական ընտրությունների օրինականության հետ։

Չալաբյանը ներկայումս կալանքի տակ կամ տնային կալանքի պայմաններում գտնվող երեք ընդդիմադիր առաջնորդներից մեկն է՝ «Մայր Հայաստան» կուսակցության ղեկավար Անդրանիկ Թևանյանի և «Ուժեղ Հայաստան» կուսակցության ղեկավար Սամվել Կարապետյանի հետ միասին։

Վերջին մեկ շաբաթվա ընթացքում մի շարք այլ կուսակցությունների ղեկավարների բնակարաններում իրականացվել են խուզարկություններ, նրանց գույքը բռնագրավվել է, իսկ պատգամավորական կամ այլ իրավական անձեռնմխելիությունը՝ վերացվել։

«ՀայաՔվեն», «Մայր Հայաստանը» և «Ուժեղ Հայաստանն» իրենց աջակցությունն են հայտնել Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի վերաբերյալ Շվեյցարական խաղաղության նախաձեռնությանը, որի նպատակն է ստեղծել խաղաղ բանակցությունների հարթակ, որը հնարավորություն կտա հարկադրաբար տեղահանված շուրջ 150,000 հայ քրիստոնյաներին վերադառնալու իրենց պատմական հայրենիք։

Christian Solidarity International (CSI)-ն կոչ է անում անհապաղ ազատ արձակել Հայաստանում պահվող բոլոր քաղաքական բանտարկյալներին, ինչպես նաև ապահովել, որ հունիսի 7-ի խորհրդարանական ընտրությունների արդյունքների վերաբերյալ ներկայացված բողոքները քննվեն արդար, անկախ և թափանցիկ դատական ընթացակարգի շրջանակում։
