«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

Թռիչքային սնունդը (ավիացիոն սնունդ) ավիաթռիչքի ընթացքում ինքնաթիռում գտնվող ուղևորներին առաջարկվող կերակուրը և խմիչքներն են: Սովորաբար դրա արժեքը ներառված է լինում ավիատոմսերի մեջ։ Թռիչքային սննդի ճաշացանկը կազմվում է՝ հաշվի առնելով թռիչքի տևողությունը և ուղղությունը, վերելքի և վայրէջքի ժամանակը: Որոշ սննդատեսակներ և խմիչքներ պիտանի չեն 10000 մետր բարձրության վրա գտնվող ինքնաթիռներում, և հասարակական սննդի այդ ծառայությունը, բնականաբար, ունի իր առանձնահատկությունները:

1910-1920-ականների սկզբին են սկսվել առաջին կանոնավոր ուղևորափոխադրումներ իրականացվել փոքր արագություն և բարձրություն ունեցող պտուտակավոր ինքնաթիռներով, և նման թռիչքների ժամանակ առաջացող տուրբուլենտության պայմաններում սնունդ ընդունելը վտանգավոր կլիներ: Օդանավում խոհանոցներ չեն եղել, թռիչքները բաժանվում էին փուլերի, և ուղևորները հնարավորություն էին ունենում թարմանալ օդանավակայանային սննդի կետերում: 1920-ական թվականներին առևտրային որոշ ավիաընկերություններ սկսել են իրենց ուղևորներին առաջարկել թեյ կամ սուրճ բուտերբրոդներով: 1930-ականներին ինքնաթիռներն ավելի հուսալի էին դարձել, ավելի ու ավելի հեռու էին թռչում և ավելի հարմարավետ պայմաններ ստեղծում ուղևորների համար, և նրանք, ազատվելով թռիչքի սթրեսից և վախից, արդեն սկսել էին հիշել սննդի մասին. հենց այդ ժամանակներից էլ օդանավերում սկսել են հայտնվել պատրաստի սնունդը տաքացնելու առաջին սարքերը: Տապակած հավը առաջինն է հայտնվել թռիչքային սննդի ճաշացուցակում: Ավիաընկերություններն ակտիվորեն նաև անվճար ծխախոտ են առաջարկել ուղևորներին: Ավիաընկերություններում ուղևորների սննդի մատակարարման ոլորտում մասնագիտացված բաժանմունքների ի հայտ գալով՝ սկսվել է թռիչքային սննդի դարաշրջանը: Երկրորդ համաշխարհային պատերազմից հետո օդային տրանսպորտը հասել է զարգացման նոր մակարդակի։ Նոր խոշոր և հարմարավետ ռեակտիվ շարժիչներով մարդատար ինքնաթիռները հնարավորություն են տվել մարդկանց աննախադեպ արագ և հարմարավետ ճանապարհորդել երկար հեռավորությունների վրա: Արդեն 1950-ականներին օդանավային խոհանոցներ եղել են բոլոր օդանավերում: Եվրոպայի և ԱՄՆ-ի բոլոր ավիաընկերությունների տոմսերի արժեքը մոտավորապես նույնն էր, և այդ պայմաններում թռիչքային համեղ կերակուրները վերածվել են մրցակցային առավելության: Այդ ժամանակ օդանավի բոլոր դասի ուղևորները կերակրվել են նույն կերպ՝ խավիար, օմարի աղցաններ և միս: Ուղևորները հաճախ ընտրել են այն ավիաընկերությունը, որտեղ սնունդն ավելի համեղ է: Ավիատոմսերի զեղչային համակարգերի ներդրմամբ թռիչքային սննդի որակը վատթարացել է, համեղ սնունդ սկսել են ստանալ միայն առաջին կարգի ուղևորները: 1960-ականներին թռիչքային սնունդը լայնորեն մատուցվել է ստերիլ ալ յումինե տարաների մեջ: Ներկայում սնունդը մատուցվում է Առաջին և Բիզնես դասերում՝ ճենապակե կամ ապակե տարողություններով, իսկ մնացած ուղևորներին՝ մեկանգամյա օգտագործման պլաստմասե և ստվարաթղթե սպասքով: Առաջին դասում մատուցելիս հաճախ սփռոց է լինում: Թռիչքների ընթացքում հատուկ ընկերությունների կողմից պատրաստված սնունդը տաքացվում է տաք գոլորշու միջոցով: Ներկայում մի կողմից՝ թռիչքային սննդի որակը անընդհատ բարելավվում է՝ կապված մեծ մրցակցության հետ, իսկ մյուս կողմից՝ ցածր գներով աշխատող ավիաընկերությունները ամեն ինչ անում են այն «պարզեցնելու» և տոմսի արժեքը էժանացնելու համար:
