Այսօր մեր հանդիպումը վերահաստատեց, որ Եվրոպական Միությունը Հայաստանի ամենավստահելի գործընկերներից է։ Հայաստանը և Եվրոպական Միությունը մոտ են իրար առավել, քան երբևէ: Այս արտահայտությունն օրեցօր ավելի է նյութականանում, ստանալով ոչ միայն քաղաքական, այլև գործնական, տնտեսական կիրառում։ Այս մասին ասել է Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը՝ Եվրահանձնաժողովի նախագահ Ուրսուլա ֆոն դեր Լայենի հետ համատեղ ասուլիսի ժամանակ:

«Ուրախ եմ արձանագրելու, որ քննարկեցինք Հայաստանի առջև ծառացած տնտեսական բազմազանեցման և այդ առնչությամբ Եվրոպական Միության աջակցության տարբեր մեխանիզմների գործարկման ուղղությամբ համատեղ աշխատանքը։ Մասնավորապես՝ ցանկանում եմ շնորհակալություն հայտնել ԵՄ-ի կողմից տրամադրված 52 միլիոն եվրոյի չափով բյուջետային աջակցության համար, լիահույս լինելով, որ առևտրի դիվերսիֆիկացման և արտահանումների խթանման ուղղությամբ ԵՄ-ի աջակցությունը կլինի շարունակական։ 

Շնորհակալություն եմ ցանկանում հայտնել նաև Եվրոպական հանձնաժողովի կողմից Եվրամիության անդամ երկրներին՝ հայկական ապրանքների նկատմամբ ինքնավար առևտրային միջոցներ կիրառելու մասին նախագիծ ներկայացնելու համար: Մեր հանդիպման ժամանակ տիկին նախագահն այդ մասին հայտնեց, համոզված եմ՝ նաև իր խոսքում կխոսի: Այս որոշումն ամբողջությամբ ուժի մեջ մտնելու պահից Հայաստանը կդառնա Եվրամիության անդամության թեկնածուի կարգավիճակ կամ Եվրամիության հետ ազատ առևտրի համաձայնագիր չունեցող առաջին երկիրը, որի նկատմամբ վերջին շրջանում ԵՄ-ն կկիրառի այս գործիքը։ 

Լիահույս եմ, որ ԵՄ և ԵՄ անդամ պետությունների մյուս կառույցների գործընկերների հետ ակտիվ աշխատանքի միջոցով կկարողանանք կարճ ժամկետներում ավարտել որոշման ընդունման գործընթացը։ Հույս ունենք նաև, որ այն հնարավոր կլինի ընդունել հնարավորինս սեղմ ժամկետներում, հաշվի առնելով, որ բերքահավաքի շրջանը Հայաստանում արդեն իսկ մեկնարկել է»,-նշել է Փաշինյանը:
