23-ամյա ֆուտբոլիստը վերջերս կասկածի տակ է դրել իր ապագան՝ խոստովանելով․«Չգիտեմ, թե ինչ կլինի Աշխարհի խաղերից հետո»։ Այդ խոսքերը նոր քննարկումների պատճառ են դարձել, քանի որ Բարկոլան ցանկանում է ավելի կարևոր դեր ունենալ թիմում և չի բացառվում, որ ամռանը կփնտրի նոր մարտահրավեր։
Ֆրանսիացին ՊՍԺ տեղափոխվեց Լիոնից և առաջին մրցաշրջաններում ցույց տվեց իր ներուժը։ Նա 2024/25 մրցաշրջանում գրանցեց տպավորիչ ցուցանիշներ՝ 21 գոլ և 21 գոլային փոխանցում, սակայն կարևոր խաղերում հաճախ չստացավ սպասված վստահությունը։ Բարկոլան դուրս էր մնացել Չեմպիոնների լիգայի վճռորոշ փուլերի մեկնարկային կազմից, այդ թվում՝ «Ինտերի» դեմ եզրափակիչում։
ՊՍԺ-ում նրա մրցակցությունը նույնպես մեծացել է։ Կիլիան Մբապեի հեռանալուց հետո ակումբը ուժեղացրեց հարձակման ձախ եզրը՝ ձեռք բերելով Դեզիր Դուեին, իսկ ավելի ուշ՝ Խվիչա Կվարացխելիային։ Արդյունքում Բարկոլայի դերը թիմում դարձավ ավելի անկայուն։
«Լիվերպուլը» ուշադիր հետևում է իրավիճակին, քանի որ Մոհամեդ Սալահի հեռանալուց հետո ակումբին անհրաժեշտ է նոր աստղային եզրային հարձակվող։ Անգլիական ակումբը կարծում է, որ Բարկոլան ունի այն հատկանիշները, որոնք կարող են նրան դարձնել «Էնֆիլդի» հաջորդ մեծ անուններից մեկը։
