Թվում է՝ Իրաքի նորանշանակ վարչապետ Ալի Զեյդին որոշել է կտրուկ շրջադարձ կատարել երկրի արտաքին քաղաքական կուրսում։ Վաշինգտոն կատարած իր անդրանիկ արտասահմանյան այցի ընթացքում նա հայտարարել է, որ Միացյալ Նահանգներ է ժամանել ոչ թե սովորական բանակցությունների, այլ երկկողմ ռազմավարական գործընկերության մեկնարկն ազդարարելու համար։
Սակայն կա մի առանցքային հանգամանք, որն է՛լ ավելի կարևոր է. Զեյդին, ըստ էության, հայտարարել է այն զինված խմբավորումների գոյությանը վերջ դնելու մտադրության մասին, որոնցից շատերը տարիներ շարունակ հովանավորվել ու ուղղորդվել են Իրանի կողմից։ Ըստ նոր կառավարության ղեկավարի՝ սեպտեմբերի 30-ից հետո զենք կրելու բացառիկ իրավունքը վերապահվելու է միայն պետական ուժային կառույցներին։ Քաղաքականություն մուտք գործել ցանկացող խմբավորումներին կառաջարկվի օրինական ինտեգրման ճանապարհ, իսկ հրաժարվողներին սպասվում է հարկադիր զինաթափում։
Թեհրանի համար սա չափազանց տհաճ ու մտահոգիչ ազդակ է։ Հենց շիական զինված խմբավորումների ցանցի միջոցով է Իրանը տասնամյակներ շարունակ պահպանել իր ահռելի ազդեցությունն Իրաքում։ Եթե Բաղդադին իսկապես հաջողվի վերականգնել ուժի կիրառման պետական մենաշնորհը, իրանական դիրքերը տարածաշրջանում զգալիորեն կթուլանան։
Հատկանշական է, որ Զեյդին այս հայտարարություններն արել է հենց Սպիտակ տանը՝ Դոնալդ Թրամփի կողքին կանգնած։ Սա նոր քաղաքական ուղեգծի բացահայտ ցուցադրություն է. Իրաքը մտադիր է ապավինել ոչ թե իրանական պրոքսի ուժերին, այլ Միացյալ Նահանգների հետ ռազմավարական դաշինքին։
Անշուշտ, հնչեղ հայտարարություններից մինչև դրանց գործնական իրագործումն ընկած է հսկայական հեռավորություն։ Այդուհանդերձ, միայն այն փաստը, որ նոր վարչապետն իր առաջին իսկ արտասահմանյան ուղևորության ժամանակ հրապարակավ որդեգրել է այս կուրսը, արդեն իսկ կարելի է համարել աշխարհաքաղաքական լուրջ ազդանշան ողջ Մերձավոր Արևելքի համար։
