Բժիշկները հաճախ այն անվանում են «լուռ հիվանդություն», որովհետև մարդը կարող է տարիներ շարունակ ապրել դրա հետ՝ առանց որևէ արտահայտված գանգատի։ Խոսքը լյարդի ճարպակալման մասին է, որը վերջին տարիներին արագ տարածվում է ոչ միայն աշխարհում, այլև Հայաստանում։

Շատ մարդիկ վստահ են, որ եթե ցավ չեն զգում, ապա առողջ են։ Սակայն լյարդի ճարպակալման դեպքում վտանգը հենց այն է, որ հիվանդությունը կարող է երկար ժամանակ չտալ ակնհայտ ախտանիշներ։ Այդ ընթացքում լյարդում աստիճանաբար կուտակվում է ճարպ, զարգանում է բորբոքում, իսկ ավելի ուշ կարող են առաջանալ լուրջ բարդություններ։

Մասնագետների խոսքով՝ ամենամեծ ռիսկի խմբում են ավելորդ քաշ ունեցող մարդիկ, նստակյաց կենսակերպ վարողները, քաղցր և վերամշակված սնունդ հաճախ օգտագործողները, ինչպես նաև նրանք, ովքեր ունեն շաքարախտ, բարձր խոլեստերին կամ բարձր զարկերակային ճնշում։ Սակայն հիվանդությունը կարող է հանդիպել նաև նորմալ քաշ ունեցող մարդկանց մոտ։

Past.am-ի զրուցակից բժիշկները նշում են, որ շատ դեպքերում լյարդի ճարպակալումը հայտնաբերվում է պատահաբար՝ ուլտրաձայնային հետազոտության կամ արյան անալիզների ընթացքում։ Հիվանդը հաճախ դիմում է բժշկի բոլորովին այլ խնդրով և միայն այդ ժամանակ իմանում, որ լյարդում արդեն փոփոխություններ կան։

Թեև սկզբնական փուլերում ախտանիշները կարող են բացակայել, որոշ մարդիկ կարող են նկատել արագ հոգնածություն, ծանրության զգացում աջ կողատակում, փքվածություն, աշխատունակության նվազում կամ անբացատրելի թուլություն։ Սակայն այս նշանները հաճախ վերագրվում են սթրեսին կամ հոգնածությանը, և հիվանդությունը շարունակում է զարգանալ։

Վտանգը կայանում է նրանում, որ չբուժվելու դեպքում լյարդի ճարպակալումը կարող է անցնել ոչ ալկոհոլային ստեատոհեպատիտի, ապա՝ լյարդի ֆիբրոզի, ցիռոզի և նույնիսկ լյարդի քաղցկեղի։ Բացի այդ, այն սերտորեն կապված է սրտանոթային հիվանդությունների, ինսուլտի և 2-րդ տիպի շաքարախտի բարձր ռիսկի հետ։

Բժիշկները խորհուրդ են տալիս հատկապես 35 տարեկանից հետո պարբերաբար ստուգել լյարդի ֆերմենտները, անցնել ուլտրաձայնային հետազոտություն, վերահսկել քաշը, արյան շաքարը և խոլեստերինը։ Շատ դեպքերում հիվանդության վաղ փուլերում հնարավոր է կանգնեցնել գործընթացը կենսակերպի փոփոխությամբ՝ քաշի նվազեցմամբ, ֆիզիկական ակտիվությամբ և սննդակարգի կարգավորմամբ։

Այս հիվանդությունը վտանգավոր է ոչ թե այն պատճառով, որ արագ է զարգանում, այլ որովհետև մարդը հաճախ ուշ է իմանում դրա մասին։ Երբեմն լյարդը կարող է արդեն լուրջ վնասված լինել, մինչ հիվանդը դեռ կարծում է, թե իրեն պարզապես «հոգնած» է զգում։
