ԱՄՆ պաշտպանության նախարար Փիթ Հեգսեթը հանձնարարել է ԱՄՆ Եվրոպական հրամանատարությանը (EUCOM) վերակազմակերպել Ուկրաինայի անվտանգության աջակցության խումբը (SAG-U) և այս առաքելության հիմնական տարրերի ղեկավարությունը փոխանցել իր եվրոպացի դաշնակիցներին, հաղորդել է ԱՄՆ բանակի եվրոպական հրամանատարության մամուլի ծառայությունը։

«ԱՄՆ պաշտպանության նախարարը հանձնարարել է ԱՄՆ Եվրոպական հրամանատարությանը (USEUCOM) վերահսկել Ուկրաինայի անվտանգության աջակցության խմբի (SAG-U) վերակազմակերպումը և բաղադրիչների միջև դերերի և պարտականությունների վերաբաշխումը, ինչպես նաև Ուկրաինայում ՆԱՏՕ-ի անվտանգության աջակցության և մարզման ստորաբաժանման (NSATU) վերակազմակերպումը։ Այս վերակազմակերպումը չի ազդի ԱՄՆ-ի կողմից Ուկրաինային տրամադրվող աջակցության վրա», - նշված է EUCOM կայքում։

Ավելի վաղ հայտնի էր դարձել, որ Պենտագոնը հրաժարվում է Գերմանիայում Ուկրաինայի անվտանգության աջակցության խմբի (SAG-U) ղեկավարությունից։ Ամերիկացի պաշտոնյայի խոսքով՝ Անվտանգության աջակցության խումբը, որը կենտրոնական դեր է խաղացել ուկրաինական զորքերի լայնածավալ ռուսական ներխուժման սկզբից ի վեր, ի վերջո կանցնի ՆԱՏՕ-ի մեկ այլ անդամի վերահսկողության տակ։ Նշվել է, որ դա կարող է լինել եվրոպական կամ կանադական ուժեր։

Պենտագոնի հայտարարության մեջ նշվում է, որ այս վերակազմակերպումը «կբարելավի Ուկրաինային տրամադրվող անվտանգության օգնության ֆունկցիոնալ արդյունավետությունն ու արդյունավետությունը, այս առաքելության հիմնական տարրերի ղեկավարումը կփոխանցի դաշնակիցներին և կազատի ԱՄՆ ռեսուրսները ԱՄՆ-ի այլ գլոբալ առաջնահերթությունների համար»։

Այն նաև ընդգծում է, որ «այս փոփոխությունները արտացոլում են Եվրոպայի առաջատար դերը Ուկրաինայի պաշտպանությանը աջակցելու գործում վերջին մեկ տարվա ընթացքում, ինչը դրսևորվել է Ուկրաինայի դիմացկուն և արդյունավետ պաշտպանության ֆոնին»։

«Դաշնակիցները ցույց են տվել, որ կարող են առաջատար դեր ստանձնել Ուկրաինայի պաշտպանությանը աջակցելու գործում», - ասել է ԱՄՆ ռազմաօդային ուժերի գեներալ Ալեքսուս Գ. Գրինկեւիչը, ԱՄՆ եվրոպական հրամանատարության հրամանատարը։

SAG-U-ն, ըստ տեղեկությունների, վերջին 3.5 տարիների ընթացքում տրամադրել է ավելի քան 2 միլիարդ դոլարի անվտանգության օգնություն։

«SAG-U վերակազմակերպումը չի նվազեցնում մեր աջակցությունը կամ նվիրվածությունը Ուկրաինային», - ասել է ԱՄՆ բանակի Եվրոպայի և Աֆրիկայի մամուլի քարտուղար գնդապետ Մայքլ Վայսմանը։ «Մենք կշարունակենք աջակցել Ուկրաինային՝ ԱՄՆ Եվրոպական հրամանատարության և Ազգային անվտանգության ուժերի հետ համակարգված աշխատանքով՝ համաձայն ԱՄՆ քաղաքականության»։
