Նիգերիայի անվտանգության ուժերը փրկել են 308 մարդու, որոնք առանձին հարձակումների ժամանակ առևանգվել էին երկրի հյուսիսային հատվածում գտնվող Նիգեր և Կվարա նահանգներից։ Այս մասին հայտնում է Reuters-ը։
Նախագահ Բոլա Թինուբուն այս գործողությունն անվանել է անվտանգության ուժերի կողմից մեկ օրվա ընթացքում իրականացված ամենախոշոր փրկարարական գործողությունը։
Նախագահականի հայտարարության համաձայն փրկվածներից 163-ն առևանգվել էին Կվարա նահանգի Կայամա շրջանի Վորո համայնքից, իսկ ևս 145-ը՝ հարևան Նիգեր նահանգից։
Կվարա նահանգի տուժածները գերության մեջ էին գտնվում փետրվարից, երբ զինված խմբավորումները հարձակվել էին նրանց համայնքի վրա և սպանել առնվազն 170 մարդու։ Դա այս տարի զինված հարձակումների հետևանքով գրանցված ամենամահաբեր դեպքերից մեկն էր։
Հայտարարության մեջ նշվում է, որ բոլոր տուժածներն ազատ են արձակվել Նիգեր նահանգի Կաինջի լճի ազգային պարկի անտառային տարածքից՝ զինված ուժերի, հետախուզական ծառայությունների և ոստիկանության համատեղ գործողության արդյունքում։
Նախագահականը չի հայտնել՝ արդյոք գործողության ընթացքում որևէ կասկածյալ ձերբակալվել է, թե ոչ։
Նիգերիան տարիներ շարունակ պայքարում է առևանգումների և զինված հարձակումների դեմ, որոնք երկրի մի շարք շրջաններում խաթարում են անվտանգությունը, խանգարում մարդկանց բնականոն կյանքը և մեծացնում ճնշումը նախագահ Թինուբուի կառավարության վրա։ Թինուբուն պատրաստվում է մասնակցել երկրորդ և վերջին ժամկետի ընտրություններին, որոնք նախատեսված են հունվարին։
