ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը անցյալ ամիս Թուրքիայից գաղտնի ռազմական չվերթով է մեկնել, մինչդեռ Սպիտակ տունը հայտարարել էր, որ նա թռչում է «Air Force One»-ով։ Այս մասին հայտնում է Washington Post-ը՝ նշելով, որ այդ քայլը պայմանավորված էր Իրանի կողմից մահափորձի սպառնալիքով։

Թրամփը ՆԱՏՕ-ի գագաթնաժողովին մասնակցելու նպատակով Անկարա էր ժամանել Կատարի նվիրած և վերջերս վերանորոգված ինքնաթիռով, սակայն Թուրքիայից մեկնելիս անսպասելիորեն օգտագործել է ավելի հին «Air Force One»-ը, ինչը հարցեր էր առաջացրել նոր ինքնաթիռի անվտանգության վերաբերյալ։

Անկարայում տեսախցիկների առջև հին «Air Force One»-ը նստելուց հետո Թրամփին օդանավակայանի սննդի սպասարկման բեռնատարով գաղտնի տեղափոխել են ավելի փոքր ինքնաթիռ՝ ԱՄՆ ռազմաօդային ուժերի C-32A, հայտնել է Washington Post-ը՝ վկայակոչելով գործողությանը ծանոթ ամերիկացի պաշտոնյայի և իր կողմից ուսումնասիրված նյութերը։

Լրագրողները, որոնք կարծում էին, թե Թրամփի հետ միասին թռչում հին «Air Force One»-ով, տեղեկացվել էին, որ մամուլի սրահի պատուհանների վարագույրները փակ պահեն։ Washington Post-ը հայտնել է, որ բացի լրագրողներից, Սպիտակ տան որոշ աշխատակիցներ նույնպես կարծում էին, թե նախագահը գտնվում է այդ ինքնաթիռում։

Երբ ավելի ուշ լրագրողները Թրամփին հարցրել են, թե ինչո՞ւ էին ստիպված փակ պահել պատուհանների վարագույրները, նա պատասխանել է՝ դա այն պատճառով էր, որ իրենք «հավանաբար վտանգավոր չվերթով» էին թռչում՝ շարունակելով. «Բայց եթե ես գնամ, դուք էլ կգնաք, չէ՞»։

Թրամփին տեղափոխող C-32A-ը Մեծ Բրիտանիա է հասել մոտավորապես ժամը 22:20-ին, իսկ հին «Air Force One»-ը՝ մի քանի րոպե անց, հայտնում է Washington Post-ը։ Լրատվամիջոցը նշել է, որ պարզ չէ, թե ինչպես է Թրամփը C-32A-ից կրկին տեղափոխվել հին «Air Force One»։

Նախագահին ուղեկցող լրագրողների խումբը հայտնել է, որ Թրամփը հին «Air Force One»-ի աստիճաններով իջել է Մեծ Բրիտանիայի ժամանակով ժամը 22:56-ին։

Երբ Սպիտակ տանը հարցրել են գաղտնի չվերթի և երրորդ ինքնաթիռի օգտագործման մասին, նախագահի աշխատակազմի հաղորդակցության տնօրեն Սթիվ Չյունգը հայտարարել է, որ Կատարի նվիրած ինքնաթիռը համալրված է բարձր մակարդակի անվտանգության համակարգերով, որոնք ապահովում են նախագահի և նրա աշխատակազմի անվտանգությունը։
