ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը նախօրեին հայտարարել է, որ Իրանից պահանջելու է փոխհատուցում վճարել «այն բոլոր մարդկանց համար, որոնց նրանք սպանել կամ ծանր վիրավորել են», հայտնում է Reuters-ը՝ նշելով, որ Թրամփն այս հայտարարությունն արել է՝ ի պատասխան ամերիկա-իսրայելական հարձակումների ժամանակ կրած վնասների դիմաց փոխհատուցելու Իրանի պահանջներին։
«Դա հետաքրքիր գաղափար է, որովհետև այժմ ես նույն կերպ Իրանից փոխհատուցում եմ պահանջում բոլոր այն մարդկանց համար, որոնց նրանք սպանել և ծանր վիրավորել են իրենց ճանապարհամերձ ռումբերով և բազմաթիվ հակամարտություններով», – Truth Social-ում գրել է նա։
Թրամփի հրապարակմանը նախորդել էր շաբաթավերջին տարածված Թեհրանի հայտարարությունը, ըստ որի՝ Իրանը մոտ է Օմանի հետ համաձայնագրի կնքմանը, որը նոր նավարկելի ուղիներ է սահմանում երկու երկրների միջև՝ Հորմուզի նեղուցով։ Իրանը միաժամանակ կրկին ընդգծել էր, որ նախքան համաշխարհային մատակարարումների համար առանցքային նեղուցի վերաբացումը ԱՄՆ-ն պետք է բավարարի մի շարք պայմաններ, այդ թվում՝ փոխհատուցման վճարումը, պատժամիջոցների չեղարկումը և ռազմական սպառնալիքների դադարեցումը։
Թրամփը հիշատակել և փոխհատուցում է պահանջել նաև 2000 թվականի հոկտեմբերին եմենական նավահանգստում ամերիկյան ռազմածովային ուժերին պատկանող «USS Cole» ղեկավարվող հրթիռների կործանիչի ռմբակոծման համար, որի հետևանքով զոհեր եղան։ Ըստ ԱՄՆ հետաքննությունների դաշնային բյուրոյի՝ 17 նավաստու կյանք խլած և ավելի քան 30 մարդու վիրավորած հարձակման հետևում «Ալ-Քաիդա» ահաբեկչական խմբավորումն էր կանգնած։
Թրամփն ասել է, որ Թեհրանը պետք է փոխհատուցում վճարի նաև հունվարի հակակառավարական բողոքի ակցիաների ժամանակ զոհված հազարավոր մարդկանց ընտանիքներին։ Տարեսկզբի բողոքի ալիքը Իրանում 1979-ի Իսլամական հեղափոխության ժամանակաշրջանից ի վեր խոշորագույն ներքին ընդվզումն էր:
Ավելի ուշ Թրամփը մեկ այլ գրառմամբ պնդել է, թե Իրանը պետք է պատասխանատու ճանաչվի նաև Լիբանանի, Սիրիայի, Եմենի և Գազայի ժողովրդի վնասների և զոհերի համար։
