Գերճնշում կամ արյան բարձր ճնշում, հաճախ կոչվում է նաև զարկերակային գերճնշում, խրոնիկական հիվանդություն, որի դեպքում զարկերակներում արյան ճնշումը բարձրանում է: Այս վիճակը սրտից ''պահանջում'' է սովորականից ավելի մեծ ջանքեր գործադրել՝ արյունը դեպի արյունատար անոթներ մղելու համար: Բժշկական գրականության մեջ տրվում է արյան ճնշման բարձրացմանը նպաստող և հիպերտոնիա առաջ բերող մեխանիզմի բացատրությունը։ Մարդու օրգանիզմում արյան շրջանառության համակարգում հիմնական ծառայությունն ընկնում է փոքր արյունատար անոթների վրա։
 
Բարձր զարկերակային ճնշումը դեռ չի նշանակում, որ պետք է ամբողջ կյանքում դեղեր խմել: Կան բնական մեթոդներ, որոնք ունակ են նվազեցնել զարկերակային ճնշումը ՝ խուսափելու համար դեղերի կողմնակի ազդեցություններից:
Ամեն օր օգտագործելով մի բուռ նուշ, կարող ենք հավասարակշռել արյան ճնշման մակարդակը: Նուշը պարունակում է չհագեցված ճարպեր, որոնք նվազեցնում են արյան մեջ խոլեստերինի քանակը, մեղմացնում աթերոսկլերոզը և իջեցնում արյան ճնշումը: Ավելի լավ արդյունք ստանալու համար ցանկալի է նուշն օգտագործել ընկույզի հետ, քանի որ վերջինս նույնպես համարվում է արյան ճնշումը իջեցնելու արդյունավետ միջոց:
 
Սննդակարգում ներառեք կալիումով հարուստ մթերքներ, այն կարգավորում է սրտխփոցը և արյան ճնշումը: Այդպիսի մթերքներից են՝ քաղցր կարտոֆիլը, բրոկոլին, բանանը և չորացրած սալորը: Թարմ բանջարեղենը արյան ճնշումն իջեցնելու համար սննդակարգի հիմքն է: Բանջարեղենը հարուստ է սննդարար նյութերով, բայց քիչ կալորիաներ է պարունակում:
