Տոկիոն տարածքային հավակնություններ ունի Մոսկվայի նկատմամբ Կուրիլյան կղզիների շուրջ, թեև դրանք ամրագրված են Ռուսաստանի հետևում Երկրորդ համաշխարհային պատերազմից հետո։ Այդ մասին հայտարարել է ՌԴ նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտ իրավունքով, ելույթ ունենալով Խաղաղօվկիանոսյան նավատորմի զորավարժությունների ժամանակ, հաղորդում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:

Պուտինը նշել է, որ Ճապոնիան առանց ռուս-ուկրաինական հակամարտության պատճառները հասկանալու Ռուսաստանի դեմ սահմանել է պատժամիջոցներ և ինչ-որ փաստաթղթերում Ռուսաստանին դասել է հիմնական սպառնալիքների շարքին:

«Կասեմ միայն այն, որ մենք կցանկանայինք հասկանալ նաև զեկույցի ընթացքում այստեղ հիշատակված Ճապոնիայի՝ մեր հարևանների, մի երկրի դիրքորոշումը, որն Ուկրաինայում տեղի ունեցող իրադարձությունների պատրվակով, առանց խորամուխ լինելու այս հակամարտության պատճառների մեջ, Ռուսաստանի դեմ սահմանել է մեր կողմից չհրահրված պատժամիջոցներ։ Ավելին, նորագույն պատմության մեջ առաջին անգամ ինչ-որ փաստաթղթերում Ճապոնիան Ռուսաստանին դասել է հիմնական սպառնալիքների շարքին»,- ասել է ՌԴ նախագահը:

Պուտինը նաև նշել է, որ ՌԴ-ն չի սպառնում Ճապոնիային և որևէ հավակնություն չունի նրա նկատմամբ, մինչդեռ Ճապոնիան ունի տարածքային հավակնություններ ՌԴ-ի նկատմամբ:

«Կցանկանայի նշել, որ մենք չենք սպառնում Ճապոնիային։ Մենք բացարձակապես որևէ հավակնություն չունենք։ Ընդհակառակը, Ճապոնիան տարածքային հավակնություններ ունի մեր երկրի նկատմամբ։ Նկատի ունեմ Կուրիլյան կղզիների խնդիրը։ Սակայն դա ամրագրված է միջազգային փաստաթղթերում՝ որպես Երկրորդ համաշխարհային պատերազմի արդյունքում առաջացած իրականություն։ Բայց այստեղ էլ Ռուսաստանը պատրաստ է եղել լուծում որոնել՝ հասնելով խաղաղ պայմանագրի կնքմանը»,- ասել է Պուտինը:
