Կոլումբիայի նոր նախագահ Աբելարդո դե լա Էսպրիելյան դիմել է ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփին՝ խնդրելով ժամանակավորապես կասեցնել կոլումբիական ապրանքների նկատմամբ բարձրացված մաքսատուրքերը, որպեսզի օգնի երկրին հաղթահարել ավերիչ երկրաշարժի հետևանքները։

«Ես խնդրեցի նրան դիտարկել կոլումբիական ապրանքների վրա սահմանված բարձր մաքսատուրքերը ժամանակավորապես կասեցնելու հնարավորությունը, որպեսզի աջակցություն ցուցաբերվի մեր գործարարներին, որոնք երկրաշարժի հետևանքների պատճառով շատ ծանր ժամանակներ են ապրում», — գրել է դե լա Էսպրիելյան X սոցիալական ցանցում։

Հուլիսի վերջից Կոլումբիայից ներմուծվող ապրանքների մեծ մասի նկատմամբ ամերիկյան մաքսատուրքերը 10%-ից աճել են մինչև 12,5%։ Բացառություններ են կազմել, մասնավորապես, սուրճն ու նավթը։ Բարձրացված սակագները ուժի մեջ են մտել հուլիսի 24-ին և փոխարինել ավելի վաղ գործող համաշխարհային մաքսատուրքերին, հաղորդում է CBS News-ը։

Դե լա Էսպրիելյան հայտնել է, որ նախօրեին մոտ 10 րոպե խոսել է Թրամփի հետ։ Ըստ նրա, ամերիկացի նախագահը ցավակցություն է հայտնել երկուշաբթի տեղի ունեցած 7,4 մագնիտուդով երկրաշարժի հետևանքով մարդկանց մահվան կապակցությամբ։

«Զրույցը շատ բարեկամական և ջերմ էր», — հայտնել է Կոլումբիայի նախագահը։ Նա հավելել է, որ Թրամփին տեղեկացրել է տարերային աղետից հետո երկրի վերականգնման լայնածավալ խնդիրների և ծանր տնտեսական իրավիճակի մասին։

Երկրաշարժը լուրջ վնաս է հասցրել Կոլումբիայի արևմուտքում գտնվող Կալի և Պերեյրա քաղաքներին։ Զոհվել է գրեթե 300 մարդ, շուրջ 13 հազար տուն ավերվել է։

Հուլիսին Թրամփի վարչակազմը մինչև 12,5% մաքսատուրքեր է սահմանել 60 երկրների, այդ թվում՝ Կոլումբիայի նկատմամբ՝ նրանց մեղադրելով հարկադիր աշխատանքի կիրառման դեմ արդյունավետ պայքար չմղելու մեջ։ Նոր սակագները սահմանվել են 1974 թվականի ԱՄՆ Առևտրի մասին օրենքի 301-րդ հոդվածի հիման վրա։

Աջ ուժերը ներկայացնող դե լա Էսպրիելյան նախագահական քարոզարշավի ընթացքում ստացել էր Թրամփի աջակցությունը և պաշտոնում փոխարինել էր ձախ քաղաքական գործիչ Գուստավո Պետրոյին, որի հարաբերությունները ԱՄՆ վարչակազմի հետ չափազանց լարված էին։

Պաշտոնը ստանձնելուց հետո Կոլումբիայի նոր նախագահը միացել է «Ամերիկաների վահան» դաշինքին, որը ստեղծվել է Թրամփի աջակցությամբ՝ անդրազգային հանցավորության և նարկոկարտելների դեմ պայքարելու համար։ Դաշինքին անդամակցում են նաև Լատինական Ամերիկայի մի շարք երկրների ամերիկամետ կառավարություններ։

Դե լա Էսպրիելյան նաև նախատեսում է ռազմական դաշինք կնքել ԱՄՆ-ի և Իսրայելի հետ՝ երկրի ներսում ձախ ծայրահեղական զինված խմբավորումների դեմ պայքարն ուժեղացնելու համար։
