Ռուսաստանի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինը, Ռուսաստանի կազմում Չեչենական Հանրապետության առաջին նախագահ Ախմատ Կադիրովի ծննդյան 75-ամյակի առթիվ, հարգանքի տուրք է մատուցել նրա հիշատակին՝ հայտարարելով, որ նա ամեն ինչ արեց խաղաղությունն ու անդորրը հանրապետություն վերադարձնելու համար։

Կրեմլի կայքում հրապարակված ուղերձում Պուտինը նշել է, որ Կադիրովի դիրքորոշումը հիմնված էր այն համոզմունքի վրա, որ «Չեչնիայի ճակատագիրը անբաժանելի է Ռուսաստանի ճակատագրից»։ Ռուսաստանի նախագահի վկայությամբ, հանրապետության հանգուցյալ ղեկավարը ձգտում էր ոչ միայն կանգնեցնել տարածաշրջանում զինված հակամարտությունը, այլև վերջնականապես վերջ տալ դրան, ինչպես նաև վերականգնել Չեչնիան։

Պուտինն ընդգծել է, որ Կադիրովի հեղինակությունն օգնել է բազմաթիվ մարդկանց դուրս բերել արմատական խմբավորումների և ծայրահեղական քարոզիչների ազդեցությունից։ Տարածաշրջանը գլխավորելու որոշումն, ըստ նախագահի, Կադիրովը բացատրում էր իր ժողովրդի համար «կյանքը տալու պատրաստակամությամբ»։

«Ցավոք, այդ խոսքերը մարգարեական դուրս եկան։ Նա չհասցրեց իր մտածածներից շատերն իրականացնել», — ասել է Պուտինը։

Ախմատ Կադիրովը ղեկավարել է Չեչենական Հանրապետությունը 2003 թվականի հուլիսից մինչև 2004 թվականի մայիսին մահափորձի հետևանքով իր զոհվելը։ Մինչև այդ, 1995-ից 2000 թվականներին, նա զբաղեցրել է ինքնահռչակ Չեչենական Հանրապետություն Իչկերիայի մուֆթիի պաշտոնը։ 2000-ական թվականներին Կադիրովն անցել է ռուսաստանյան իշխանությունների կողմը և առանցքային դեր խաղացել Չեչնիայի նկատմամբ Մոսկվայի վերահսկողության հաստատման գործում։
