Հզոր սողանքի և ջրհեղեղի հետևանքով Նեպալում առնվազն 22 հազար երեխա տառապում է մաքուր խմելու ջրի պակասից: Նրանք նաև պատշաճ սանիտարիայի և հիգիենայի ապահովման շտապ կարիք ունեն, հայտարարել է ՄԱԿ-ի Մանկական հիմնադրամը (ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ), որը զգուշացրել է վարակիչ հիվանդությունների բռնկման սպառնալիքի մասին, հաղորդում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը։

«Բհոտեկոշի և Տրիշուլի գետերի ավազաններում հանկարծակի հեղեղումներից ավելի քան մեկ շաբաթ անց առնվազն 22,000 երեխա անվտանգ խմելու ջրի, ինչպես նաև սանիտարիայի և հիգիենայի ոլորտում ծառայությունների սուր կարիք ունի», - նշել է ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ-ը:

Ջրամատակարարման համակարգերը և սանիտարական ենթակառուցվածքի օբյեկտները վնասված են կամ ավերված: Աղետի շրջանները լքած ընտանիքները ստիպված են ապրել տեղի բնակիչների տներում և ժամանակավոր տեղավորման կետերում, ինչը պայմաններ է ստեղծում, որոնք մեծացնում են վարակիչ և ջրի միջոցով փոխանցվող հիվանդությունների բռնկման ռիսկը:

Բնակչության համար անվտանգ ջրի, սանիտարիայի և հիգիենայի միջոցների հասանելիության ապահովումն այժմ գլխավոր առաջնահերթություններից մեկն է, հայտարարել է Նեպալում ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ-ի ներկայացուցիչ Էլիս Ակունգան:

«Վնասված ջրամատակարարման համակարգերը, խողովակաշարերը, պոմպերը, զուգարանները և սանիտարական ենթակառուցվածքի այլ օբյեկտները վերանորոգման և վերականգնման կարիք ունեն։ Ընդ որում, դրանք պետք է վերականգնել այնպես, որ կարողանան դիմանալ ապագա ջրհեղեղներին: Հակառակ դեպքում հաջորդ աղետից հետո ստիպված կլինենք նորից քննարկել նույն խնդիրները, և դրա համար նորից վճարելու են երեխաները»,- նշել է նա։

ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ-ը միջոցներ և սարքավորումներ է ուղարկել Ռասուվա և Նուվակոտ շրջաններում մոտ 19,000 մարդու համար ջրամատակարարում, սանիտարիա և հիգիենա ապահովելու համար: Պետական մարմինների և գործընկերների հետ համատեղ ՄԱԿ-ի Մանկական հիմնադրամն աշխատանք է տանում համաճարակաբանական հսկողության, հիգիենայի քարոզչության և հիվանդությունների բռնկման կանխարգելման ուղղությամբ:

Հիշեցնենք, որ օգոստոսի 26-ին Նեպալի հյուսիսում հզոր հեղեղում է տեղի ունեցել: Աղետի պատճառ է դարձել Չինաստանի հետ սահմանին՝ «Ռասուվագադհի» սահմանային անցակետից մոտ 20 կմ դեպի հյուսիս-արևելք տեղի ունեցած ձնահոսքը: Լեռնային ապարների հոսքը հսկայական արագությամբ գետի հունով անցել է ավելի քան 70 կմ՝ ավերելով բնակավայրերը և ջրասույզ անելով մեծ տարածք: Այս պահի դրությամբ հայտնի է ավելի քան 1,250 զոհվածի մասին:
