Հայ ծագումով ամերիկացի եղբայրները Գլենդեյլում այրվող ծերանոցից փրկել են վեց տարեցների՝ մտնելով շենք դեռևս մինչև հրշեջների ժամանումը, գրում է New York Post-ը։

20-ամյա Ալեքս Բազինյանն ու նրա 15-ամյա եղբայր Նարեկը բնակվում են Մաունթըն սթրիթում գտնվող տարեցների հաստատության մոտակայքում։ Հրդեհը սկսվել է ուրբաթ օրը՝ տեղական ժամանակով մոտ 16:45-ին։ Երբ Ալեքսը տեսել է դուրս վազող բուժքրոջը, որը օգնության էր կանչում, հասկացել է, որ ներսում մարդիկ են մնացել։

Սկզբում Նարեկը փորձել է կրակը մարել գուլպանով, սակայն բոցն արագորեն ուժգնացել է, իսկ օգնության կանչերը՝ ավելի բարձրացել։ Այդ ժամանակ եղբայրները որոշել են մտնել այրվող շենք։

Ալեքսը նշել է, որ ներսում եղել է ութ մարդ, այդ թվում՝ երկու բուժքույր։ Նրանք փորձում էին դուրս բերել տարեց բնակիչներին, սակայն ինքնուրույն չէին կարողանում հաղթահարել տարհանումը։

«Մտնում եմ մեծ սենյակ և տեսնում եմ այս բոլոր տարեցներին հատակին, ոմանք կաթետերներով էին։ Ոմանք վիրավոր էին, ոտքերին արյուն կար։ Մենք պարզապես բոլորին հերթով դուրս էինք բերում»,- KTLA հեռուստաալիքին պատմել է Ալեքսը։

Եղբայրներին օգնության են հասել ևս երկու հարևաններ։ Արդյունքում բոլոր վեց տարեցներին հաջողվել է դուրս բերել փողոց մինչև հրշեջների ժամանումը։ Ալեքսը պատմել է, որ վերջին մարդուն դուրս բերելուց անմիջապես հետո պայթյունի ձայն է լսել։

«Նայում էի շուրջս և տեսնում, թե ինչպես է բոցը բարձրանում ու շարժվում դեպի ինձ։ Փորձում էի բոլորին հնարավորինս արագ դուրս բերել։ Ամենուր ծուխ էր, որի պատճառով գրեթե ոչինչ չէի տեսնում»,- պատմել է Նարեկը։

Գլենդեյլի հրշեջ ծառայության պետը հայտնել է, որ պայթյունի պատճառը, հավանաբար, թթվածնի բալոնն է եղել, ինչից հետո շենքի մի մասը փլուզվել է։ Հրդեհի պատճառը դեռևս քննվում է։

Հրշեջներին հաջողվել է մարել կրակը մինչև այն կհասներ հարևան տներին։ Յոթ մարդ ստացել է թեթև վնասվածքներ։

Եղբայրներն իրենց արարքը բացատրել են տեղի ունեցողին բնական արձագանքով։

«Երբ տեսնում ես, որ մարդիկ օգնության կարիք ունեն, պարզապես ուզում ես օգնել նրանց։ Մենք նույնիսկ չէինք մտածում, թե ովքեր են նրանք։ Մեզ մոտ այստեղ շատ համախմբված համայնք է»,- ասել է Ալեքսը:
