Եվրամիության արտաքին քաղաքականության պատասխանատու Կայա Կալլասը հայտարարել է, որ Ռուսաստանի նկատմամբ պատժամիջոցներ կկիրառվեն Ուկրաինայի օկուպացված տարածքներում ընտրություններ անցկացնելու համար:

Եվրամիությունը դատապարտում է Ուկրաինայի օկուպացված տարածքներում «ընտրությունների» ապօրինի կազմակերպման համար, ասված է հայտարարությունում: ԵՄ արտաքին քաղաքականության հարցերով բարձր ներկայացուցչի խոսքով՝ դա «Ռուսաստանի կողմից միջազգային իրավունքի, այդ թվում՝ ՄԱԿ-ի Կանոնադրության, ինչպես նաև Ուկրաինայի անկախության, ինքնիշխանության և տարածքային ամբողջականության ևս մեկ աղաղակող խախտում է»:

«Ուկրաինայի ժամանակավորապես օկուպացված տարածքներում այդ կեղծ ընտրությունների կազմակերպմանը կամ թեկնածուների առաջադրմանն առնչություն ունեցող անձինք, ինչպես նաև Ռուսաստանում ազատ և արդար ընտրութունների անցկացման հնարավորության խափանման համար պատասխանատուները կենթարկվեն պատժամիջոցների», – հայտարարում է Կալլասը:

Բրյուսելը կոչ է անում Ռուսաստանին հարգել Ուկրաինայի միջազգայնորեն ճանաչված սահմանները և ինքնիշխանությունը, ինչպես նաև ընդգծում է, որ «չի ճանաչում և երբեք չի ճանաչի ո՛չ Ուկրաինայի ժամանակավորապես օկուպացված տարածքում այդ «ընտրությունների» անցկացումը, ո՛չ դրանց արդյունքները»:

Սեպտեմբերի 18-20-ը Ռուսաստանում անցկացված Պետդումայի ընտրություններում, նախնական արդունքներով, իշխող «Եդինայա Ռոսիա» կուսակցությունը ստացել է նոր խորհրդարանի 450 մանդատից 355-ը՝ սահմանադրական մեծամասնությունը: Դա կլինի «Եդինայա Ռոսիա»-ի խոշորագույն խմբակցությունը կուսակցության ամբողջ պատմության ընթացքում:

Կալլասի խոսքով՝ այդ ընտրություններն ընդգծեցին «Ռուսաստանում ժողովրդավարության շարունակվող և խորացող էրոզիան», իսկ հակապատերազմական ծրագրով «Յաբլոկո» կուսակցությանը դաշնային ցուցակից դուրս թողնելը «է՛լ ավելի սահմանափակեց ռուսաստանցի ընտրողների ընտրությունը»:
