Կերոլին Իսբիստերն անչափ երջանիկ էր, երբ իմացավ, որ հղի է: Սակայն հղիությունը շատ հարթ չէր ընթանում…
Երբ Ռեյչելը լույս աշխարհ եկավ, նա կես կիլոգրամ էր կշռում: Փոքրիկի սիրտը 10 վայրկյանում 1 անգամ էր բաբախում, և թվում էր, թե նա չի շնչում: Բժիշկները վստահ էին, որ աղջիկը մինչև երեկո չի ապրի: Կերոլինն արդեն հոգեպես պատրաստվում էր ամենավատին… Արցունքներով ողողված՝ մայրիկը գրկեց աղջկան և դրեց փոքրիկին իր կրծքին:
«Նրա ոտքերը կարծես սառույց լինեին: Ինձ մնում էր միայն վայելել վերջին պահերը…», – հիշում է Կերոլինը:
Բայց հանկարծ Ռեյչելի սիրտը սկսեց ավելի հաճախակի բաբախել: Մայրիկը զգաց փոքրիկի շնչառությունը: Փոքրիկի թշիկները կարմրեցին:
«Ոչ ոք չէր կարողանում հավատալ կատարվածին: Աղջիկս սկսեց կյանքի նշաններ ցույց տալ: Ես հույսով լցվեցի:
Չնայած այդ ամենին, բժիշկները ոչ մի հույս չէին տալիս: Բժիշկներն ասացին, որ ես պետք է բաց թողնեմ նրան…»:
Դրա փոխարեն Իսբիստերը խնդրեց տեղի քահանային, որ օրհնի իր փոքրիկին:
Փոքրիկն իր ողջ ուժերով սկսեց պայքարել կյանքի համար: Դա ուղղակի հրաշք էր: «27 տարվա իմ պրակտիկայի ընթացքում նման բանի չէի հանդիպել… Աղջկան փրկեց մայրական սերը», – ասում է Կերոլինի բժիշկը:
Այսօր Ռեյչելն առողջ երեխա է մեծանում: Նա շատ է սիրում գրկախառնվել և հաճախ է քնում մայրիկի կրծքին սեղմված: Գրկախառնությունները, փաստացիորեն, փրկեցին նրա կյանքը: Հրաշքներ լինում են:
