1. Մրգասառույց. 110 տարի առաջ 11-ամյա Ֆրենկ Էպերսոնը պատահաբար պատուհանագոգին թողեց լիմոնադով լի բաժակը, որի մեջ փայտիկ կար, որով նա խառնում էր լիմոնադը: Գիշերվա սառնամանիքից լիմոնադը սառել էր: Առավոտյան Ֆրենկը բաժակից դուրս հանեց փայտիկի վրա սառած լիմոնադը և համտեսեց: 18 տարի անց նա գրանցեց իր հայտնագործությունը:
2. Տոպրակով թեյ
1908թ Նյու Յորքից վաճառական Թոմաս Սալիվանը գովազդի նպատակով սկսեց իր գնորդներին ուղարկել թեյի փոքրիկ տոպրակեր՝ մեկանգամյա օգտագործման համար: Գնորդներից շատերը միանգամից տոպրակերը մտցնում էին եռացրած ջրի մեջ՝ կարծելով, թե հենց դա է օգտագործման եղանակը: Սալիվանը իմացավ այդ մասին և սկսեց մասսայականացնել իր գյուտը:
3. Կպչուկներ
Շվեյցարացի Ժորժ դե Մեստրալը որսից հետո այնքան դժվարությամբ էր շան մազերից հեռացնում փշաբույսը, որ որոշեց մանրադիտակով ուսումնասիրել, թե ինչն է պատճառը: Երկար տարիներ Դե Մեստրալը փորձում էր կրկնօրինակել բնությունը, վերջիվերջո դա հաջողվեց նրան: Նա գրանցեց կպչուկների իր գյուտը:
4. Սուրճ եփելու զտիչ
Գերմանուհի Մելիտ Բենցիին վրդովեցնում էր այն երևույթը, որ երբ սուրճ էր խմում, ատամների տակ միշտ ճռռում էր սուրճի նստվածքը: Տնային տնտեսուհին որոշեց լուծում տալ այդ խնդրին. նա ծակծկեց պահածոյի տուփի հատակը, նրա վրա դրեց տետրի մի թուղթ և լցրեց սուրճ: 35 տարեկանում նա գրանցեց իր գյուտը:
5. Գարեջրի խցան
Ատամնավոր մետաղե այդ խցանն իռլանդացի Վիլյամ Պեյնտերի 80-րդ փորձն էր, ինչ-որ բան հնարելու: 1892-ին գյուտարարը գտավ շիշը հերմետիկ փակելու և հեշտությամբ բացելու հանճարեղ լուծումը:
6. Գնդիկավոր գրիչ
Հունգարացի լրագրող Լասլո Բիրոնեն չէր սիրում փետրավոր գրիչները, որովհետև նրանցով գրելիս թանաքոտվում էր: Ժամանակակից գնդիկավոր գրչի գաղափարը նրա գլխում ծագեց այն ժամանակ, երբ տեսավ, թե ինչպես են երեխաները խաղում ապակե գնդիկներով. դրանցից մեկը ջրափոսի միջով գլորվելով իր հետևից հետք թողեց:
7. Պահածոներ
Նապոլեոնի բանակի ամենամեծ խնդիրներից մեկը մթերքն էր: Բոնապարտը մեծ պարգև էր խոստացել նրան, ով կկարողանա պահածոյացնել մթերքը: Առաջին անգամ դա արեց ֆրանսիացի հրուշակագործ Նիկոլյա Ապերը:
8. Կպչուն ժապավեն
1896-ին համբուրգցի դեղագործ Օսկար Տրոպլովիցընաշխատում էր բժշկական կպչուն սպեղանի ստեղծելու ուղղությամբ: Փորձերից մեկն անհաջող ստացվեց. ժապավենն այնքան ուժեղ էր կպչում մարմնին, որ վնասում էր այն:
9. Դյուբելներ
Մի անգամ 94-ամյա գյուտարար Արթուր Ֆիշերին պետք էր պատին ամրացնել ծանր դարակներ, և նա ստեղծեց այնպիսի հարմարանքներ, որոնք հիշեցնում են ժամանակակից դյուբելները:
