Սիրիայում սովից հազարավոր մարդիկ կարող Էին զոհվել պաշարված քաղաքներում: Այդ մասին, հայտարարել Է ՄԱԿ-ի մարդու իրավունքների գերագույն կոմիսար Զեյդ Ռաադ ալ Հուսեյնը՝ Ժնեւում բացելով ՄԱԿ-ի Մարդու իրավունքների խորհրդի (ՄԻԽ) 31-րդ նստաշրջանը:
ՄԱԿ-ի գլխավոր իրավապաշտպանի տվյալներով՝ «մինչ այժմ ավելի քան 450 հազար մարդ Է շրջափակված Սիրիայի պաշարված քաղաքներում եւ ավաններում, իսկ առանձին դեպքերում դա արդեն տարիներ Է տեւում»: «Շտապ կարգով պարեն, դեղորայք եւ այլ տեսակի շտապ անհրաժեշտ հումանիտար օգնություն տեղ հասցնելը մշտապես արգելափակվում Է»,-հավելել Է ալ Հուսեյնը:
«Բնակչությանը կանխամտածված սովի մատնելը, անկասկած, արգելված զենք Է մարտական գործողություններ վարելու համար»,-ասել Է նա:
Ավելի վաղ ՄԱԿ-ը սիրիական հակամարտության կողմերին կոչ Է արել վերացնել բոլոր շրջապատված քաղաքների պաշարումը եւ չխոչընդոտել կարիքավոր բնակչությանը հումանիտար օգնություն հասցնելուն: Ինչպես Ժնեւում հայտարարել Է ՄԱԿ-ի Հումանիտար հարցերի համակարգման վարչության պաշտոնական ներկայացուցիչ Ենս Լարկեն, առաջիկա հինգ օրերին կանցկացվի շրջափակված շրջանների 154 հազար սիրիացիների օգնություն հասցնելու գործողություն: Դրա հետ մեկտեղ շրջափակված սիրիացիների թիվն Էլ ավելի մեծ Է, քան այդ մասին հայտարարել Է մարդու իրավունքների գծով գերագույն կոմիսարը, հավելել Է նա:
«ՄԱԿ-ը հորդորում Է բոլոր կողմերին՝ անհապաղ վերացնել Սիրիայի շրջապատված բոլոր քաղաքների պաշարումը, որտեղ շուրջ 500 հազար մարդ Է ապրում»,-նշել Է Լարկեն: Հակամարտության կողմերին նաեւ պահանջ Է ներկայացվել՝ «ապահովել անվերապահ, անարգել մուտքը դժվարամատչելի կամ պաշարված շրջաններ եւ հնարավորություն ընձեռել՝ հումանիտար օգնություն ցուցաբերել դրանցում գտնվող բոլոր 4,6 մլն մարդկանց», հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ գործակալությունը:
