ԵԱՀԿ-ի մամուլի ազատության գծով ներկայացուցիչ Դունյա Միյատովիչը հայտարարել է, որ Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիեւը երկրում անկախ լրագրողների եւ ոչ կառավարական կազմակերպությունների դեմ անընդհատ ճնշման արշավ է տանում:
Այս մասին Միյատովիչը հայտնել է կառույցը ղեկավարելու 6 տարիների ընթացքում 57 անդամ երկրներում մամուլի ազատությանը նվիրված զեկույցում:
Դունյա Միյատովիչը զբաղեցրած պաշտոնից հեռանում է մարտի 10-ին:
Զեկույցի Ադրբեջանին վերաբերվող բաժնում Միյատովիչը նշել է, որ մամուլի ազատության եւ ոչ իշխանամետ կազմակերպությունների դեմ Ալիեւի տարած արշավի արդյունքում ներկայում բազմաթիվ ակտիվիստներ հայտնվել են ճաղերի հետեւում:
«Շատերը կարծում են, որ Ադրբեջանում մամուլի ազատության վրա ճնշումը կապված է Ուկրաինայում նախագահ Վիկտոր Յանուկովիչի տապալումով ավարտված Մայդանի վախի, կամ նավթի էժանացման հետ: Ադրբեջանում իրավունքների պաշտպանության պատճառով կալանվածներ կան: Վախեցված, ծեծված, սպանված, դատական հետաքննություն չտեսած մարդիկ կան», -նշել է նա:
Միջազգային եւ ադրբեջանական իրավապաշտպան կազմակերպություններն ավելի վաղ հայտնել էին Ադրբեջանում մոտ 100 քաղբանտարկյալներ, այդ թվում` 28 «խղճի բանտարկյալ» լինելու մասին:
Եվրոպայի Խորհրդի մարդու իրավունքների հանձնակատար Նիլս Մուժնիեկսը Ադրբեջանում մարդու իրավունքների խախտումների եւ խորհրդարանական ընտրությունների համար նորմալ պայմաններ չլինելու վերաբերյալ politico.eu կայքում հրապարակած խիստ քննադատական հոդվածում Ադրբեջանն անվանել էր խավարի կղզյակ:
«Չնայած ընդարձակ միջազգային քննադատությանը. Ադրբեջանի իշխանությունն անհողդողդ է կեղծ մեղադրանքներով դատապարտված իրավապաշտպաններին չազատելու հարցում, անընդհատ պնդելով, թե բոլոր ակտիվիստներն ու քաղաքական ընդդիմության անդամները ձերբակալվել են հանցագործ գործունեության համար: Այնպես է ստացվում, որ Ադրբեջանի բոլոր իրավապաշտպանները գող են, չեն վճարում հարկերը եւ լրտես են, կամ էլ Ադրբեջանի քաղաքական եւ դատական համակարգում լուրջ խնդիր կա, ինչն ավելի հավանական է», -նշել էր նա:
