Ռոբերտ Մելքոնյանը ֆեյսբուքյան իր էջում գրում է.
Մայրաքաղաքի, ինչու չէ հանրապետության բոլոր քաղաքների, բնակավայրերի հին, ուրույն, ճարտարապետական, քաղաքաշինական հետաքրքրություն ներկայացնող թաղամասերը, շենքերը և հուշարձանները պետք է մշտապես ուշադրության կենտրոնում գտնվեն: Բոլորիս ուշադրության կենտրոնում… Անխտիր՝ անկախ զբաղեցրած պաշտոնից ու դիրքից, քսակի գումարի քանակից…
Կարծես Երևանում այն արդեն նույնիսկ քաղաքային իշխանությունների մակարդակով օրախնդիր է և ուշադրության կենտրոնում, ու պետք է նույն կերպ այսուհետ շարունակել:
Հյուսիսային պողոտայի և Տերյան փողոց հատման շրջանաձև հրապարակին հարող հին շենքը, որը քանդման ենթակա է, արդեն քանի տարի է բնակիչների համառության, հաստատակամության և կամքի շնորհիվ չի քանդվել: Իհարկե ողջունում և հասկանում եմ, բայց միաժամանակ այդ շենքը իմ կարծիքով իրենից ճարտարապետական կամ պատմական որևէ արժեք չի ներկայացնում: Չգիտեմ, ես մասնագետ չեմ և հնարավոր է սխալվում եմ: Սակայն, այդ շենքից Տերյանով դեպի ներքև, անմիջապես կպած կա նույն բարձրության, տուֆից կառուցված, գեղեցիկ խոյակներով, զարդանախշերով, հին մի գեղեցիկ շենք: Եթե իմ նշած շենքն այնուամենայնիվ անսալով բնակիչների բողոքներին որոշեն քանդել, ապա միակ և ճիշտ տարբերակը կլինի <<էլիտար>> բոնբոներկա, բարձրահարկ անճաշակ հերթական շենք կառուցելու փոխարեն, տուֆից կառուցած այդ հին շենքի ոճով՝ նույն քարից, նույն բարձրության, նույն զարդանախշերով շենք կառուցել և այդ հատվածին տալ ամբողջական տեսք, ինչպես որ հավանաբար նախատեսվել է ժամանակին:
Իմ կարծիքով դա միակ ճիշտ լուծումը կարող է լինել՝ պահպանելով այդ հատվածի հին ոճը, տվյալ շենքի բնակիչների առաջնահերթության իրավունքներն ու փոխհատուցման խելամիտ պայմանները…
Եթե իմ նշած տարբերակով անգամ չպահեցին համեմատաբար հին Երևանի այդ հատվածը, ապա ես մյուս տարբերակների դեպքում կկանգնեմ շենքի բողոքող բնակիչների կողքին, քանի որ հաջորդ <<զոհը>> կլինի արդեն իմ նշած այդ գեղեցիկ շենքը…
