2015 թվականը 90-ամյա ամերիկուհի Նորմայի համար այդքան էլ լավ սկիզբ չունեցավ: Ամենավատ բաները տեղի ունեցան մի քանի օրվա ընթացքում. Հանկարծակի մահացավ նրա սիրելի ամուսինը, որից հետո կնոջ մոտ քաղցկեղ հայտնաբերեցին: Բժիշկներն անմիջապես Նորմային բուժում նշանակեցին. Ինտենքիվ քիմիոթերապիա և բարդ վիրահատություն:
Իմանալով բժիշկների մտադրությունների մասին՝ տատիկն ընդամենը խորը շունչ քաշեց և ասաց. «Լսեք, ես 90 տարեկան եմ: Ես վաղուց պետք է այն արկղի մեջ լինեի»: Նորման որոշում կայացրեց. Հրաժարվել քիմիոթերապիայից և լիարժեք, իր ուզածի պես ապրել իր մնացած կյանքը: Ինչո՞ւ չմեկնել շուրջերկրյա ճանապարհորդության:
Ասաց և արեց: Նորման ամեն ինչ քննարկեց իր ընտանիքի ադամների հետ, ովքեր, բնականաբար, իրենց սիրելի տատիկին չէին կարող մենակ թողնել:
Այդ օրվանից Նորման ճանապարհորդում է իր ողջ ընտանիքի հետ, այցելում է բոլոր այն վայրերը, որոնց մասին մի ժամանակ միայն երազում էր:
Բարեբախտաբար հիվանդությունը դեռ չի հասել իր գագաթնակետին: Կնոջ լավատեսությունն օգնում է իրեն լիարժեք հաճույք ստանալ իր ճանապարհորդություններից:
Դե ինչպե՞ս կարելի է առանց քաղցրավենիքի:
Գարեջուր – չէ՞ որ պետք է ինչ-որ բան խմել այդ համեղ թխվածքներն ուտելուց հետո:
Չնայած իր ախտորոշմանը՝ Նորման շարունակում է ուրախանալ և հաճույք ստանալ կյանքից:
Նա չգիտի, թե երբ կավարտվի իր կյանքը: 90-ամյա «լավատեսուհին» որոշել է հաճույք ստանալ կյանքի յուրաքանչյուր վայրկյանից:
Եվ լավ կլիներ, որ մեզանից յուրաքանչյուրը նրա նման լավատես լիներ և նման ճիշտ որոշումներ կարողանար ընդունել:
