Արհեստական թարթիչների բացասական հետևանքներն ակնհայտորեն կրում է 28-ամյա Լուիզա Ջեքսոնը:
Լուիզան իր հարսանիքի օրը դիմելով Անգլիայի գեղեցկության սրահներից մեկին՝ խնդրել է իրեն արհեստական թարթիչներ դնել: Սակայն, երբ գործընթացի ավարտից հետո նա փորձել է բացել աչքերը, չի կարողացել:
Հետո վարպետը փորձել է ունելիի օգնությամբ առանձնացնել թարթիչներն իրարից, սակայն ապարդյուն: Լուիզան փորձել է մաքրել սոսինձը, բայց կրկին ոչինչ չի ստացվել, իսկ աչքերն այդ ընթացքում այնքան են ուռել, որ աղջիկը գրեթե ոչինչ չի կարողացել տեսնել:
Լուիզան դիմել է բժիշկների օգնությանը, ովքեր նրան օգնել են աստիճանաբար ազատվել սոսնձից: Բժիշկների խոսքերով, նրա աչքերն այնպիսի տեսք ունեին, ասես, թարթիչներն ամրացնելու համար սուպերսոսինձ են օգտագործել:
Բանն այն է, որ նման կոսմետիկ միջոցների համար օգտագործվող սոսինձները հաճախ պարունակում են այնպիսի նյութեր, որոնք ալերգիկ ռեակցիա են առաջացնում: Իսկ կրկնակի օգտագործումը սպառնում է բնական թարթիչների թափվելուն և խոչընդոտում դրանց աճին:
