Հայ-հունական առնչություններն ունեն հազարամյակների պատմություն և նշանավորվել են բարեկամության բազմաթիվ դրսևորումներով: Ինչպես հաղորդում է«Արմենպրես»-ը` վկայակոչելով Հունաստանի Հանրային հեռուստատեսությունը, այս մասին նշել է ՀՀ նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը Հունաստանի նախագահ Պրոկոպիս Պավլոպուլոսի հետ առանձնազրույցի ընթացքում:
Նախագահը նաև շնորհակալություն է հայտնել Պրոկոպիս Պավլոպուլոսին պաշտոնական այցի հրավերի համար և շեշտել, որ հայ և հույն ժողովուրդների փոխհարաբերություններին բնորոշ է փոխըմբռնման և փոխհասկացողության բարձր մակարդակ: «Իմ կարծիքով` որևէ բարեկամություն, այդ թվում հայ-հունական բարեկամությունը, մենք չպետք է համարենք երաշխավորված: Բարեկամության համար պետք է աշխատել, բարեկամությունը պետք է սնել, բարեկամությունը պետք է խթանել: Եվ իմ կարծիքով` այս պարտականություններն առաջին հերթին մեր երկրների ղեկավարների և առաջատար քաղաքական ուժերի պարտականություններն են»,- շեշտել է Սերժ Սարգսյանը:
ՀՀ նախագահը համաձայնել է Հունաստանի նախագահի այն մտքի հետ, որ ճգնաժամային իրավիճակներում պետք է առավել սերտացվեն երկկողմ հարաբերությունները: «Ցավոք սրտի, այս ճգնաժամային իրավիճակը մեր, երկու, երեք երկրների չէ բնորոշ, այլ մեծ տարածաշրջանների: Բնական է, որ մենք և դուք` որպես ցեղասպանություններ վերապրած ժողովուրդներ, պարտավոր ենք մեծ պայքար ծավալել ահաբեկչության ցանկացած դրևսորումների դեմ: Ես ամբողջովին կիսում եմ Ձեր կարծիքը, որ ցեղասպանություն վերապրած որևէ ժողովուրդ, առավել ևս մենք, իհարկե, վրեժխնդրությամբ լցված չենք: Մենք հի շում ենք ցեղասպանությունը, որպեսզի երախտագիություն հայտնենք բոլոր նրանց, ովքեր դժվարին պահին մեզ ձեռք են մեկնել, որպեսզի կանխարգելենք ապագա ցեղասպանությունները, և որպեսզի կարողանանք վերածնվել, ապացուցել, որ, այո՜, մեր թշնամիներին չի հաջողվել մեզ վերացնել: Պարո՜ն նախագահ, իմանալով ձեր հոգատար վերաբերմունքը մեր բարեկամության հանդեպ` ես վստահ եմ, որ մենք շատ կառուցողական երկխոսություն ենք ունենալու: Մեկ անգամ ևս շնորհակալ եմ հրավերի և ջերմ ընդունելության համար»,- Հունաստանի նախագահի հետ զրույցի ընթացքում նշել է Սերժ Սարգսյանը:
