Հովհաննես Այվազովսկու «9-րդ ալիք» (1850թ.) ստեղծագործությունն ընդգրկվել է աշխարհի 10 լավագույն կտավների ցանկում, որոնք պատկերում են ծովի ալիքների անհավանական գեղեցկությունը: «Արմենպրես»-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ ցանկը կազմել է միջազգային հեղինակավոր The Creative Business բլոգը, որը նվիրված է արվեստին' հիմնականում լուսանկարչությանն ու գեղանկարչությանը: Ցանկը կազմել է գերմանացի հայտնի արվեստաբան, նկարչուհի Անդրեա Բեքլենդը, ում բազմաթիվ աշխատանքներ ընդգրկված են Գերմանիայի պետական, Հաագայի, Փարիզի, Լոնդոնի և Վաշինգտոնի մասնավոր հավաքածուներում: Տասնյակում ընդգրկված են Աբրահամ Ուիլարեթսի «Փոթորկոտ ծովը» (1629թ), Հոկուսայի «Կանագավայի հսկա ալիքը» (1829-1832թթ), Ուիլիամ Թըրների «Սառցե փոթորիկ» (1842թ.), Կլոդ Մոնեի «Էտրետատի փոթորկոտ ծովը» (1883թ.) և այլ աշխատանքներ:
