ԿԺԴՀ-ն երկու բալիստիկ հրթիռ  է արձակել: Այդ մասին,ՏԱՍՍ-ին հայտնել է ԱՄՆ-ի ռազմական գերատեսչության պաշտոնական ներկայացուցիչ փոխգնդապետ Միշել Բալդանզան:

«Մենք գիտենք, որ ԿԺԴՀ-ն երկու բալիստիկ հրթիռ է արձակել: Մենք ուշադիր հետեւում ենք Հյուսիսային Կորեայի ռազմական գործողություններին եւ Կորեական թերակղզու իրադրությանը»,- նշել է նա:

Բալդանզան ընդգծել է, որ Փենյանի կողմից հրթիռների արձակումը «ՄԱԿ-ի Անվտանգության խորհրդի բազմաթիվ բանաձեւերի ակնհայտ խախտում է»:

Ավելի վաղ հայտնի Է դարձել, որ ԿԺԴՀ-ն իրականացրել է «Նոդոն» տիպի միջին հեռահարության երկու հրթիռների արձակում: Առաջին հրթիռն անցել է 800 կիլոմետր եւ ընկել Ճապոնական ծովը: Հարավային Կորեայի գլխավոր շտաբի տվյալներով՝ երկրորդ հրթիռն արձակվել է առաջինից 22 րոպե անց: Դրա հետքը ռազմական ռադարները կորցրել են 17 կիլոմետր բարձրության վրա: Սեուլում զինվորականների կարծիքով՝ հրթիռը պայթել է օդում:
