Գրավիչ, գայթակղիչ, անգերազանցելի Մերիլին Մոնրոյին բաժին են ընկել թերթերի ու ամսագրերի ամենանրբագեղ արտահայտությունները, ամենաշքեղ տղամարդիկ, ովքեր խենթանում էին նրա համար: Նրան բաժին են ընկել նաև տառապանքներ, որոնց միջով ստիպված էր անցնել իր կյանքի ընթացքում: Դժվար է նրան պատկերացնել սովորական կին, նա միշտ աստվածուհի էր էկրանից:

Իվ Առնոլդը լուսանկարել է դերասանուհուն նրա վերջին ֆիլմի նկարահանման ժամանակ, որոնք դասական լուսանկարներ են համարվում: Սակայն նրա զինանոցում կան նաև այնպիսի լուսանկարներ, որոնք արվել են Մոնրոյի կյանքի վերջին 10 տարում: Այդ բացառիկ լուսանկարներն առաջին անգամ հանրությանը ներկայացվել են միայն 2005-ին՝ Լոնդոնում:
