Աստղագետների գնահատմամբ՝ ամեն տարի Երկրի վրա ընկնում է շուրջ 100 հազար տոննա երկնաքար կամ դրա մնացորդ։ 

 Երկնաքարերը, մթնոլորտ մտնելով, սկսում են տաքանալ և լուսավորվել, դրա հետևանքով աստիճանաբար կորցնում են իրենց սկզբնական քաշը և մինչև մթնոլորտի ստորին շերտեր հասնելը գրեթե վերանում են։ 
 
 Երկնաքարի կտոր գտնելը չափազանց հազվադեպ պատահող երևույթ է։
 
 Fishki.net կայքը ներկայացնում է դրանցից մի քանիսը, որոնք գերազանցելով գիտնականների ենթադրությունները՝ «վայրէջք» են կատարել Երկրի վրա հսկա քարերի և նույնիսկ՝ ժայռաբեկորների տեսքով։

1. Вилламетт земля, метеориты, находка
Այս երկնաքարն ունի ուղևորափոխադրող ավտոմեքենայի չափեր, և գիտնականների կարծիքով՝ մոտ 1 մլրդ տարի առաջ է ընկել Երկրի վրա։ Այն գտել են Օրեգոն նահանգի անտառներից մեկում՝ 1902-ին։ 
 
Մբոզի, Աֆրիկա
քաշը՝ 16 տոննա
Крупнейшие метеориты, когда-либо найденные на Земле земля, метеориты, находка
Երկնաքարի երկարությունը հասնում է մինչև 3,  իսկ լայնությունը՝ 1 մետրի։ Առաջին անգամ այն հայտնաբերել է Ու.Գ.Նոտտը՝ 1930-ին։ 
 
Ագպալիլիկ, Գրենլանդիա
քաշը՝ 20 տոննա
2. Мбози земля, метеориты, находка
 Ագպալիլիկը Cape York անունով երկնաքարի հատվածներից մեկն է, որն ընկել է Երկրի վրա 10.000 տարի առաջ։ Այն գտել են 1963-ին՝ Ագպալիլիկում։ Ներկայում այն գտնվում է Կոպենհագենի համալսարանի Երկրաբանական թանգարանի բակում։ 
 
 
Բակուբիրիտո, Մեքսիկա
քաշը՝ 22 տոննա
3. Агпалилик земля, метеориты, находка
«Երկաթե հսկային» հայտնաբերել է Հիլբերտ Էլլիս Բեյլին՝ 1892-ին։ Ինչպես այլ երկնաքարեր, այնպես էլ Բակուբիրիտոն անվանվել է այն տեղանքի անունով, որտեղ այն գտել են։ 
 
Անիգիտո, Գրենլանդիա
քաշը՝ 31 տոննա
4. Бакубирито земля, метеориты, находка
Անիգիտոն Cape York երկնաքարի ամենամեծ մասն է։ Չափսերը՝ 3.4x2.1x1.7 մետր։ Cape York-ը Երկրի վրա ընկած խոշորագույն երկնաքարերից աշխարհում երկրորդն է։  
 
 
Էլ Չակո, Արգենտինա
քաշը՝ 37 տոննա
5. Анигито земля, метеориты, находка
Մի քանի հազար տարի առաջ Գանսեդո տեղանքի մոտ երկնաքարերի անձրև է տեղացել, որի մասին վկայում են դրանց առաջացրած փոսերը և բազմաթիվ գտածոներ, որոնք մի քանի կգ-ից մինչև մի քանի տոննայի հասնող քարեր են։ Ենթադրվում է, որ Էլ Չակոն ընկել է Երկրի վրա 4000-6000 տարի առաջ։ 
 
Գոբա, Աֆրիկա,
քաշը՝ 60 տոննա
6. Эль Чако земля, метеориты, находка
Գոբան ամենամեծ երկնաքարն է, որ երբևէ ընկել է Երկրի վրա։ Այն գտնվում է Նամիբիայում։ Գիտնականների հաշվարկներով՝ այն ընկել է Երկրի վրա մոտ 80 հազար տարի առաջ։ Այն հայտնաբերել են Գրոտֆոնտեյնի մոտ՝ 1920 թվին։ Երկնաքարը 84%-ով երկաթից և 16%-ով կոբալի խառնուրդով նիկելից է կազմված։ Երկնաքարի մոտ կառուցվել է զբոսաշրջային կենտրոն։
