 Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահների վերջնական նպատակը և գլխավոր առաջնահերթությունը Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության երկարատև լուծումն է: Այս մասին հայտարարել է Մինսկի խմբի ԱՄՆ համանախագահ Ջեյմս Ուորլիքը` «Ամերիկայի ձայն»-ին տված հարցազրույցում: «Հրադադարի ռեժիմի խախտման դեպքերը մեծ անհանգստության առիթ են մեզ համար: Նախորդ տարի հունվարին գրանցված բախումները ռեկորդային էին հրադադարի կնքումից ի վեր: Ամենամտահոգիչը խաղաղ բնակչության կրած կորուստներն են:  Մենք քննադատում ենք ծանր հրետանու գործածումը»,-նշել է Ուորլիքը:

ՄԽ համանախագահները մարտի սկզբին Թբիլիսիում մասնակցել են խորհրդակցության, որը հրավիրվել է «Հաշտեցման միջոցներ» կազմակերպության ջանքերով: Ներկայացված են եղել թե հայկական, թե ադրբեջանական կողմերը. «Երկխոսության ցանկացած հարթակը կարևոր է»:

Ինչ վերաբերում է ԱՄՆ Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի արտաքին հարաբերությունների հանձնաժողովի նախագահ Էդ Ռոյսի և դեմոկրատ գործիչ Էլիոթ Էնգելի առաջարկների ծրագրին` Հայաստան-Ադրբեջան սահմանին և ղարաբաղա-ադրբեջանական շփման գծում հրադադարի ռեժիմի պահպանման վերաբերյալ, Ուորլիքը նշել է, որ Մինսկի խումբն աջակցում է առաջարկությանը: «Թեև վերջնական նամակը դեռ չենքտեսել, սակայն առաջարկները , որ արվել են Էդ Ռոյսի կողմից, ստացել են ՄԽ համանախագահների աջակցությունը, այն պետք էաջակցություն ստանա բոլոր կողմերից: Մենք պահանջում ենք զինադադարի պահպանում»,-ասել է ՄԽ ամերիկացի համանախագահը:  

ԱՄՆ օրենսդիրներն առաջարկում են երեք կոնկրետ քայլեր, որոնք կարող են նպաստել տարածաշրջանում բոլոր քաղաքացիների համար համապարփակ ևտևական խաղաղության հաստատմանը: Նրանց ներկայացրած նամակում, որի տակ ստորագրել են 80 կոնգրեսականներ, կոչ է արվում համաձայնություն ձեռքբերել բոլոր կողմերից՝ դիպուկահարներ չտեղակայել շփման գծում, ԵԱՀԿ-ի կողմից վերահսկվող զարգացած կրակոր սիչ համակարգերի և ձայնայինսարքավորումներ տեղակայել՝ հարձակումների աղբյուրը ճշտելու համար և ԵԱՀԿ դիտորդներ տեղակայել՝ շփման գծում հրադադարի խախտումների դեպքերնավելի լավ վերահսկելու համար:
